What tension to string Volkl Cyclone?

I use the 2016 pure aero I need to know what tension to string my volkl cyclone 17. I play with a decent amount of topspin looking for a mix of control and power I know the pure aero is a stiffer racket but I was thinking around @52 lbs.

Volkl Cyclone Anthracite?

17G - Try 50lbs and work your way up from there.
16G - Try 46lbs and work your way up from there (You might find better spin potential and control potential with the thicker gauge even though it is at lower tension. You will certainly get better tenison maintenance and longer playability out of the 16G)

You might even consider a 16G Mains 17G crosses hybrid!

Thanks probably will go with 16g since I need the better tension maintenance

52 is the absolute upper limit I go with on cyclone (one of my top three strings), but usually go at 48

Really depends on the racquet - and the player of course.

Higher tensions seem to work better with more flexible racquets or more open string patterns.
Middle tensions down seem to work better with stiffer racquets or less open string pattersn.

Keep in mind that there is a weight difference between a strung up set of 16G and 17G. The 16G will be heavier. That will increase the static weight and swing weight of the racquet, and make the racquet more Head Heavy (less Head Light) Balance. (It may also make the racquet feel a little stiffer too.)

Just curious... In your experience how much of an increase in swing weight do you get with a 16g string compared to a 17g?

Depends on the racquet. Obviously, the more string used in the hoop, the greater the difference.

IIRC, on 2013 APD, the difference was about 2 to 3 points measured using SwingTool.

But I don't really care about minor differences in Swing Weight..... Changes in Static Weight, Balance, and Stiffness levels are far more important.
