What would happen if a Nole-Stan SF at RG would take place?

After his AO win i am sure Stan believes he can take out Djoker in a big match. Even on clay. So what do you guys think? What would happen if they were to face in a RG SF?

RG is Wawrinka's favourite tennis tournament. He loves playing in front of the French speaking crowd/fans. He's a good clay court player too.

It would be another 5 set thriller or Djokovic in 4 or Wawrinka in 4. It won't be a 3 set match.

They would be playing a great tennis match.
All the speculation doesn't do a bit of good, they still have to play the match.

Wawrinka would lose pretty decisively in 3 or 4 sets. His serve was arguably his biggest weapon at the AO a few weeks ago. He won't get nearly as many aces and service winners against Djokovic on clay.

I think their matches will be very close on all surfaces from now on.

I think Stan would really tire novak out for Nadal

I see most people are not giving Stan a chance. Too bad.

If i were Nole i would think of a strategy to counter Stan in their next meeting.

Seriously if stan prevents novak from completing the CS i think novak will be finished mentally

It's absurd to think that Djokovic has some huge issue with Wawrinka's game that he needs a radically different gameplan to win. Djokovic was the first one to break in the 5th set, he was getting into Wawrinka's service games a lot easier than Wawrinka was on his service games. Wawrinka's serve was amazing in that match. That was the biggest difference between the two. When Djokovic had break points, Wawrinka hit huge serves.

On clay, I don't see Wawrinka's serve bailing him out. Wawrinka actually served well against Nadal at RG last year and his second serves were 102 mph on average. He still got broken like 6-7 times.

It would be close, but I would still give Novak the edge as of now. It would go to a 50-50 for me if Stan has a couple of big wins over the next couple of months.

For some reason I feel as though Stan won't do all that great at this years FO. If he did meet Novak, it'd probably be another 5 setter,

Knowing Nadal's luck he will likely have a bunch of Spaniards lined up for a bending over one at a time on his side of the draw.

I can definitely see Del Potro, Djokovic, Wawrinka, and Federer all somehow on the same half of the draw (of course Nadal beats all these guys too but still).

And Nadal will have the great clay master Murray and Ferrer on his half :p

Djoko in 3 or 4. Although Stan the man loves the clay, I think Djoko is better on clay and has a bit of an edge with his amazing defense.

I absolutely love watching Wawrinka and I'm soo so happy he was able to finally beat Djokovic at the Aus Open and also beat Nadal to win the title, i was rooting for him the entire time, but if they do meet, I would want Djokovic to win solely because i wanna see a Djokovic vs Nadal final and out of everyone I would want to see Djokovic as the first and only player to beat Nadal in a French Open final, that would be epic and if that happens then Novak would have officially beaten Nadal in all 4 slam finals, its a bit of a long shot but i would like to see that

How do you explain Wawrinka giving Djokovic a very hard time at AO and the US in 2013, then? I don't remember Wawrinka being up in both matches thanks to his serve, he was owning Djokovic from the baseline for a big chunk of both matches.

I'm not saying Wawrinka didn't do good from the baseline. Its a hardcourt and big hitting is rewarded. The fact is, no matter how good Wawrinka was from the baseline, Djokovic's clutch play and defense got him out of a 2 sets to 1 deficit at the USO and AO this year. You can bet your house that Wawrinka wished he had hit a few 135 mph aces on the biggest points of that 20 minute game he lost at the start of the 5th set of their SF against Djokovic.

And you answered your own question with the words "owning Djokovic from the baseline for a big chunk of both matches". Yes, a "chunk" is correct. Djokovic usually holds his own very well and given that Wawrinka's 2nd serve winning pct was in the 40s in the 5th set during their previous two slam matches, I would say he even outplays Wawrinka from the baseline on crunch time.

Wawrinka would have a harder time hitting through Djokovic's defense on clay. So probably Djokovic in 4.

Bump.

*Although not a SF, but a final. I see people were not giving Wawrinka so many chances in such an encounter.
