What would you do?

My roommate just took a slice of pizza from a pie I bought. Normally I'd say it's no big deal but for 1 fact. He didn't ask my permission. All he had to do was ask and I'd have gladly given him a slice. ****, I'd have given him 2 slices. That lack of permission is annoying me. I have yet to take a single food item from him in 3 years. What would you do if this were your roommate? Before you ask, no I wasn't in the kitchen when it happened. All this clown had to do was knock on the door. What a sneaky clown.

^ This is yet another of Rickson's attempts to turn this message board into an irrelevant, mindless entity to compete with 'Twitter'.

I wasn't asking you, woman. I was asking respected members of this message board which certainly doesn't include you as nobody here respects you.

Just be like half-serious and say, "Hey yo, you be stealin' my pizza... could you at least ask?" Your friend probably just assumed you wouldn't mind, and all you have to do is let him know.

I used to give him my leftover pizza often, but I asked him if he wanted it or he would ask me in the past and I never said no. Did hunger really get to him tonight? All he had to do was knock on the door and ask. It just goes to show how important permission is.

Either I am an expert critical thinking problem solver, or else everything on the board is extremely trivial lately. Rickson, what is the issue? He ate a piece of pizza and it irritates you. You can either let it continue to irritate you and run the risk of him swiping another slice in the future, or you can simply tell him, "Look man. I don't mind sharing but it bothers me when you take something of mine, be it food or anything else, without asking. That's not cool, ya know?" Problem solved. You can add to the story, elaborate on the finer details, etc., but it's still problem solved.

^ Indeed, with posts like this, it's easy to see why you are so well respected by the... uh... mature intellectuals of these boards...

If I were you, Rickson, to avoid further embarrassment, I'd stick to the stuff you know best - essentially grunting, snorting, farting, and saying "Hey, wanna fight" every once in a while...

It's clear he's asked for permission before and usually does. If it starts happening more often then just mention that you'd like it if he asked. People get comfortable with each other and how things are and since you have never had an issue in the past........ So let it go for now. As you said, you would have given it to him anyway.

You tell him that you licked that slice seconds before it dropped to the floor and you wiped the dirt off.

Is it me or is Deuce kind of a ******?

Anyway, I would have half-seriously said "could you at least ask?" like fedthesavior said...

No, you're right. Deuce is definitely a ******. Now if I could only decipher that word. Does it start with f?

Was the pizza old, or had you just bought it? If it was a day old, he may have thought you didn't want anymore. If you just bought it and he took it while you were out of the room, then you just nicely say "hey, did you take my pizza? It's no big deal, just ask next time" something like that.

Dude, cmon...

If that wouldve happened to me heres what I say:

If you want some pizza all you have to do is ask, but dont go seaking around taking without saying anything about it, I dont care, yell from the kitchen 'Im gettin a slice' but dont just grab anything of mine and then go sneaking off.

^somethin like that. I would hate that kind of behavior but I wouldve said something immediately, so he would know that kinda stuff really bothers me, but thats me.

That's correct, Pablo. The pizza didn't bother me much, it was the lack of permission that bothered me. When it comes to roommates, food is off limits, except of course, when you ask. Yes, the pizza was fresh and it was good too. I experimented with 3 different places before I found this place which got good reviews and I now know why. Too bad my RM got to find out for free.

Sometimes you do more harm than good by telling someone something like that. He may take on the attitude of I'll never ask you for anything ever again let alone take something. He made a mistake and it annoyed me. I'll give him 1 more chance. If he does it again, I'll let him know that he needs to get permission first, but if he doesn't do it again, let him consider himself lucky that he got a mulligan.

^ It's you.
I've seen Rickson pollute this board with infantile foolishness like this for a few years now.
Whether this is his attempt at 'cleverness' or whether every person he knows is either neurotic or psychotic, I don't know... but either way, I consider it pollution. Especially because it's so repetitive in its nature of "please help me live my life".

These are the kind of posts that 13 year olds put up to get attention.

Ya. Normally this board is like a mensa meeting.
^ Well... no - but Rickson lowers it to another level altogether with these nonsense posts of his.

Could you kindly share with this board what TW's goal is for this board? I really don't know and since you seem to be able to dictate what is determined to be quality or otherwise I'm assuming you were given that measuring stick by TW. It would help if you could share this measuring stick with all so that we do not lower the quality of this board from it's intended goal. Thank you.

^ It's both amusing and disturbing that some people are so threatened by the expression of a perspective or opinion that they become irrationally defensive like this.
Why need I be "given a measuring stick by TW" in order to express a viewpoint on this board? Is not one of the purposes of this board to express opinions?
You seem like one of those people who campaign that only nice, pretty perspectives ought to be permitted to be expressed anywhere; that we must never judge others, etc...
Meanwhile, you make all sorts of judgments yourself (of course you do - it's human nature to judge and assess things - without judgment, we'd not be human).

As for TW's goal with this message board - that is simple - their goal is to generate revenue for TW.

As for the goal of the act of discussion, I would hope that the goal of people involved in any discussion would be to try to maintain it on a remotely intelligent and rational level.
Or at least a level that is consistent with one's age.

Neither was the case in the original post in this thread.

So that's a no on the measuring stick then? Oh, that's too bad. Oh well.

Well Rickson, I guess there is no way to know for sure if you lowered this board. I sure hope you didn't because I know you wouldn't want to do that. Deuce had me worried there for a moment (as I'm sure you and everybody else were too!) but it appears to be a false alarm. It's alright everyone, you can stop holding your breath and start breathing again.

Sauce, I could have made him regurgitate the slice, but I wouldn't eat anything that's been touched by someone else's hand so you can obviously forget about the mouth. It would have been funnier if you said I should have forced him to eat it for the 2nd time.
