When will pictures be easier to post?

TW has made this forum very modern, and I have even recommended to other platforms as an example of excellent user friendly site.

Yet, it’s one major flaw has been the inability to upload pictures without an outside website assist (Imgur, photobucket, etc).

I’m curious if there’s been any discussion on adding a simple button in the toolbar that would allow photos to be added directly from a phone or computer? I know of other forums (VitalMx.com) that have had this for some time. It’s an easy thing to do.

It's probably intentional. Because pictures take a lot of memory and buying hard drives and servers and setting them up and maintaining them is not cheap.

I sure you’ve seen posts where trolls add a lot of pictures in many different threads. This eats up a lot of memory and I’m sure TW doesn’t want to host it for them.

Cost. I use to have accounts on moderated text only forums. The forums were for technical questions related to research and the mods did not want to go thru images, which were useless. It was for SMEs only.

edit There may be legal issues associated with storing images from sites that own the image. Fair use may allow linking cuz you are not monetizing the image. But storing say a Getty image is probably breaking a law since TW is a business.
