Which do you consider the best starting stringer??

I'm new to stringing and would like to find out which starting stringer (ATS Super Stringer, Gamma X-2, Klippermate and Silent Partner Swing) would be considered best for a newbie to stringing.
And, if I take the next level plunge up, to a better machine such as ECO MS fixed, ST II or X-ST or Alpha Revo 4000, again, which would be order of preference?
I think this may help a lot of people who want to get into stringing but need some guidance or opinions.
Thanks

klippermates are a great beginning machine, i just NEED one.

I've read many threads, they have unparalled amazing customer service, liftime guarantee and warranty on EVERYTHING, very helpful instructional booklet and perfect for a low volume i.e yours and a couple other peoples racquets.

I ahve nothing against drop weights, but all of these need to strengthen the mounting arm assembly to allow less flex when tension is pulled.

I prefer an entry level machine with a clutch or ratcheting string gripper like the ATS SSII, Gamma X2 or Silent Partner Swing. This makes the machine easier to use on poly strings. The string gripper on these machines is also easier on the string.

Gorth,
Very nice machine.
Why did you pick that over the ST II, since they are so similar?

The gamma website said the X-ST is just a newer version of STII.. So like an i.prestige vs a LM Prestige.. just wanted to get the newer version.

I can't say for this stringer, but newer is not always better. Sometimes newer means "cheaper to build". But, I would say that floating clamps do seem to be getting better. I don't like Gamma's short, plastic floating clamps though.
