Hey folks!
Someone played with the New yonex Vcore 98?which string / tension setup you prefer?

Myself coming from head speed Mp & solinco confidental or Tour bite at 23, 5/22,5kg.

I only tried yonex PTP at the Moment because i need to buy a New reel.
But i want to try some New strings, any recommendations?

I have the Feeling i need to reduce lounge angel and try to get or hold as much spin as possible. Dont want to go ultra Stiff tho.

Lynx Tour 1.25 (Champagne) at 52. In the Yonex Vcore 98 2023 thread over in Racquets, another poster doubled down on this string, albeit at a lower tension. I personally did not like IceCode 1.20 in this stick. I've played Confidential a lot in the past and have enjoyed it, just haven't had a chance to string this racquet up with it.

Lynx Tour 17 @ 48 is great.

Tried YPTR 17, which is my go to for the 97D. More comfy, but didn't seem to hit as heavy a ball.
Hawk Power 17 was good too.

Someone tryed Tour bite or tourna 7 silver Tour?
I have a reel of S7T at home. Will try that next.

I read that it's to Muted for the racket but i've got a non open, New reel and thinking to Sell the whole or just try it with the vcore 98.

At the moment Head lynx Tour and confidential @52lbs was the best for me.

Strings i consider trying: Mayami Tour hex & hyper G & Diadem Solstice Power.

My current setup for humid days is Luxilon Eco in the mains and smooth Head Poly in the crosses. Vcore 100. has been holding up pretty well after 10 hours of play and
I strung it at 55M-50X. Plenty of spin.

I recommend trying Grapplesnake Alpha. It is great for the Yonex VCore 98. Really compliments the spin and feel.

Played lights out yesterday w/ OGsheep SG 16g mains, PTstrike 16L crosses. 55/52 lbs.

Was playing 16L PTrev full bed at 52lbs and lynx tour same tension. Will need a few more sessions to see if the hybrid was a fluke/honeymoon, or if tension loss/breakage make it a deal breaker

Had a few sets left on an old reel of tourna 7 silver Tour 17 so I strung one up @ 48lbs. This string just seems to play well in almost every racquet I've tried it in and the VC 98 is no different. Crisp but comfortable and spin is out of this world. But man I had forgotten how much I hate stringing with it because it's so stiff and sharp. Might just be worth the pain. S7T, I can't quit you.

I'm trying element rough 1.30 at 50 and it feels really stiff, might swap it for element 1.25 and drop down to 47 next time. This stick shoots missiles.

So at the Moment my ranking is:

#1 Solinco Confidential / Head Lynx Tour 1.25@ 52/50lbs
#2 Yonex PTREV orange 1.25 @52/50lbs
#3 Yonex PTP 1.30 yellow @52/50lbs

But will try more.

Been playing with HyperG 1.25 @50 lbs for a few months now and I love it. Im going to string one stick with Solinco TourBite 1.20 @48, to see if I can confidently swing out on the ball more. Sometimes with the Hyper G, it gets me a alot of spray towards the end of the life of the string. Im breaking my current set up within 8-10 hours.

Tour Bite 1.20 is good stuff. Similar control to Hyper G 1.25 and more consistent.
Have you tried Hyper G 1.20? It's kind of erratic. Crazy how the Solinco strings change so much at different gauges.

I have not. I was originally using HG 1.30mm and I liked it, It just took too long to break, would go completely dead before breaking. 1.25 is perfect, seems to give me more spin, breaks in a sane amount of time to where theres only 1 hour or so of really bad play. the HG 1.30MM was lasting like 15-20 hours...

In my Yonex Vcore 98, I had used a hybrid of Yonex PolyTour Pro 16L in mains and Tecnifibre NRG2 16 in crosses at 51/54. I was happy with the feel but wasn't confident to swing out with this setup. After several months, I decided to try something different and tried full bed of Yonex PolyTour Rev 16L. Per specs, I knew the Rev was a tad bit firmer vs Pro, so I strung it up at 48# to avoid hurting my arm. I lost some feel but man did I gain a lot of spin, control, and durability (no longer have to worry about poly sawing through the multifilament string). I've been very pleased with the switch. The full bed of Rev allows me to swing out and still keep the ball in play. My groundstroke consistency has risen and as a result, winning more matches. I now highly recommend pairing Yonex Vcore 98 with Yonex PolyTour Rev string.

On the Vcore 98 I've only tried YPTP and Tecnifibre Triax (49 lbs). Both feel pretty good but Triax has much better tension maintenance.

I'm trying Tecnifibre 4S (formerly called Black Code 4S) on the Vcore 100 at 46/44 lbs and it gives some nice obvious shape to my shots (what people call "free spin" I guess). I've only just started trying this though, so I can't give a full review.

Also on my list to eventually try are Yonex Polytour Rev / Luxilon 4G soft / Solinco Confidential / Tecnifibre Ice Code / Restring Zero. Maybe one of those would give you the lower launch angle you want.

Just switched to Vcore 98 from Vcore 100. First string setup - Solinco Tour Bite 1.20 at 50 lbs. It's a great combo so far.

I’m thinking about switching from YPTP 125 to Triax in my VCore 98 and 95 (alternate in both). And around high 40s of tension. Curious about your experience in terms of spin and feel.

I think that's definitely worth a try if you're looking for better tension maintenance or a softer feel. The strings are very similar in terms of what you can accomplish while playing (including control and spin).

I'd recommend going with the 1.33 or 1.38 gauge for better durability.

One of the best feeling and power hybrid on any power and spin Yonex racquet is definitely PTS in the mains with PTP in the crosses. If you haven't tried it, this is a must!

Thanks. Going with the 1.33 in the VCore 95. Will report back after a week or so of play.
