I know people have talked about leather grips and I have read most of them. I love wilson leather grips but havn't used Babs or Volkl and would like to know what people think is the best of the three and why. I have to buy a bunch of grips and want some opinions. I only want to know about the three being sold at tw. I do not use nor do I like over grips. I want to know how they feel to you without an overgrip. I don't care about overgrips. I know custom+hybrid has a similar thread going but not many have answered it.

Although other sites have better selection of leather grips IMO, of the three TW has, I'd say Volkl is the best, found it to be very comfortable, although at the beginning the color starts to run, but that seems to go away after a while. I think Wilsons are average, not bad, but not good enough to seperate itself from the pack. I've never been a fan of babolat leather, I thought it was one of the thickest out there, so if you're looking to increase you grip size somewhat, that might be a choice for you. Also check out ****'s leather (not their synthetic), I found it to be my favorite of the ones still being made

I can't compare these three, but I do use the Babolat grips. I have used them for about three weeks (playing 5X/ week.)
My racquets came with leather grips and I used them without an overwrap for almost a year and a half. The Babolats were lighter. They lowered the overall racquet weight by 6 grams each. Therefore making the racquets slightly more head heavy. Please note I play with a relatively heavy frame. If you use a lighter one, the balance issue may be more pronounced. (If you do a search on this forum, all the different grip weights are posted. So you can compare your original grip to the Babolat.)
The Babolat grip is beveled, so it produces a very flat grip (no ridges or valleys to tuck your fingers in.) Less rough on the skin than previous grip.
It is also very long. If you hit a 2HBH you will be able to wrap this grip all the way up the handle. There is sticky tape on the back and the grip hasn't shifted or separated.
The tackiness is good. Very natural feel. Not waxy or sticky. Remains grippy even with a little sweating happening. (Note: I am not a big "hand sweater".)
Hope this helps you. Let me know if there's anything else I can tell you.

I say all the leather grips are roughly the smae in terms of feel. They're all made by big companies have a good reputation from what I've heard.

Has anyone else noticed that the new leather grips on the Prostaff 6.0 85s have a really distinctive pungent smell? it even permeates through my Tourna overgrip and stays on my hand for hours after.
