Who has Men's dubious record for most Grand Slam match losses with winning a 6-0 Set? I know Connors had 3 such losses.

I know Connors had 3 such losses.

1980 US Open Semifinals - loss to McEnroe 46 75 60 36 67
1981 Wimbledon Semifinals - loss to Borg 60 64 36 06 46
1989 US Open Quarterfinals - Loss to Agassi 16 64 60 36 46

Thought Agassi might be a contender, but he only has one (1991 Wimbledon QF vs. Wheaton)

Henman has two (1998 US Open R16 vs Philippoussis, 2001 Wimbledon SF vs Ivanisevic)

Nastase has 2(the first may be the only case of someone winning 2 love sets and losing the match)

1969 1R RG loss to Matthews
36 60 60 46 68

1974 RG QF loss to Solomon
46 46 60 63 46

Guessing this record may belong to some some lower ranked player.
How does something like that even happen?

here's another one. Purcell lost to Clerc in the 3rd round of 81 USO by this score:

36 60 60 46 36

Clerc: ''I had never lost two love sets in my life before,'' he said later, ''but I think I was just tired from the long match last night. After those two love sets, I said, O.K., I am going to run, keep the ball on the court and look for him to make the errors. It not only worked, I began to feel better, too.''

I think you will find that Gregoire Barrere lost at consecutive French Opens despite winning a set 6-0......in 2018 and 2019

Baghdatis also lost in the 05 French and the 10 French despite winning a set 6-0 so if anyone can remember another slam he did that, he might be the answer......

In consecutive French Opens, Ronald Agenor lost first round to Martin Jaime and to Ivan Lendl but won a set 6-0 in each match.....1986 and 87

Dominic Thiem displaying how to turn a straight set victory into a 5 set epic loss

After that first 6/0 set, when he had shown everyone that he was head and shoulders above Nadal and that *he* should be given Bull's discount US Open's, he probably decided to go for the moral victory so as to prevent Nadal from attaining GOAThood on that score. How decent of him.

We have a WINNER

Ronald Agenor!

Wimbledon 2000 Popp beats Agenor 06 75 76 62

French Open 1991 Connors (ironically) beats Agenor 64 62 36 06 64

French Open 1987 Lendl beats Agenor 75 76 06 63

French Open 1986 Jaite beats Agenor 61 36 06 62 64

pretty impressive to bagel Lendl at 87 RG. That was only bagel Lendl received in '87 (74-7 record that year)

Agenor just posted a few minutes of that match on youtube. the 2nd point is great.

Which kind of losers click like on this guy's troll posts? :-D looks like the usual cast of basement dwellers.
He's pretty clearly referring to the scoreline. I believe he doesn't like Nadal so he might have meant that as well. At any rate, the former was the reason I liked his post.

great find! (y)

now who has the 'opposite record'?
Ivanisevic won 8 matches despite being bageled... that's a good start to investigate ;)

what a lovely 1HBH down the line to finish that endless rally!

agenor was a peculiar player... I think he also has a winning record against stich. last time I saw him play was probably when he took a set from (then #1) kuerten in canada... he really could have won that match! :)
