Who thinks Fed would play better with a 95" racquet?

Dear sir,

You have an illustrious career and we all respect your collection and your acquaintence with Roger. ( but I have a job to do with the administration of this highly important matter.....so a little seriousness please....lol,,,;) )

Repectfully may I inquire as to exactly how long you have known Mr. Federer and what exactly it is that you do for him?

Following that line of logic.....Theoretically speaking wouldnt it be possible for Roger to build a K90 with completely different specifications at any time.

Secondly...Although you may very well know what models you have witnessed....what about the ones that you have not witnessed??

How do you know every single racquet Roger has ever used everywhere at every point of his career. Is it not possible that there may have been just one stick that you did not witness?

.

WOW HE WAS BANNED! :oops::oops:

This thread can now die peacefully and complete like it should have long ago.
Roger never used a 95, never shanked more with a 95 than with an 85 by weird logic. There has never been a need for him to switch rackets. The 2009 FO champion won it with a 90! Equijet thanks for clearing up the last few questions ANYONE (NOT KOA) had about Roger's rackets. That said, Federer never used a 95 and doesn't need to switch. He is still hitting the ball as good as ever. Thanks to the other posters with me on the issue. Have fun!

The shadow of doubt on what you posted here is far greater than anything posted by those you attempt to refute.

Secret racquets? Uhhhh...Ok...... Made in Austria? Zoom in on the photo and notice the Made in China sticker. Also, Federer's ProStaff was the Chinese version, not the St. Something (Vincent) or other version.

Now you've just plain taken to lying. Let me be clear. Federer, in the all the years I've watched him, has never used a 95 in tournament play. Got it? You have proven you'd go to any lengths to prove a point that can't be proven mainly because it just isn't true. You have lost all credibility. Your comment above is really bad form and way off base. Way to take something completely out of context, but that is just par for the course for you I see.

And for God's sakes, it is Furthermore.

And what is your point? The point of this thread is questioning his racquet selection which clearly has been found to be a great choice for him.

Yes, when/if you grow up, you'd make an excellent ambulance chaser/flim flam man/snake oil salesman. However for your own safety, keep your bags packed and your car full of gas.

Even lawyers need their wastebaskets emptied, so there's a future for him. (Yes, I'm referring to their actual physical wastebaskets. Since the troll in question never leaves his computer, he may not be familiar with the fact that real ones exist in the real world.)

yes but I am the Judge. You guys made me the Judge, as this thread has gone on forever with you guys just trying to convince me.

Therefore, as Judhe I hereby issue a directed Verdicted??????? and overule the Jury. I overule the Jury as being biased and tainted.

By order of the court: Directed verdict to King of Aces.....but you can always take it up on appeal. ;)

By the way congrats to all the Fed fans!

Nope, you're more like the only jury member without an education. You can imagine how annoying that is for the others. And all the other members were trying to get him (that's you, if you're still following me) to understand basic legal principles. To help with that education, please note corrections above, as usual. If you get to summer school for the next few months, there's still hope you will eventually graduate grade school and maybe even get your equivalency diploma and that nifty janitorial job I mentioned above. You're going to have to give up the trolling, though, to make up for all the time you've lost. Otherwise, better find a way to make money from trolling these boards, since experience is a big thing in the job market.

By the way, the bit you added about "SHADOW" of a doubt isn't part of the legal language at all. It's a movie title, which you may have added because you spend more time watching TV than at school.

Thus, the verdict for you is still: stay in school, don't do drugs, get a haircut. Good luck to you (although our hopes fade with every additional post you make without sign of improvement).

For the record, I don't belive fed would play better with a 95. If he would, he would have already switched.

BTW, anyone notice Federer won the French Open yesterday??? Using a one-handed backhand, small headed frame, and playing in bad weather conditions???? against someone with a two hander. ???????? :)

Have you ever held a 90 up next to a 95 to compare the size difference. It's so small that you almost can't detect it.

No, I don't think this slight size difference would matter.

Whoa......

What's this back on topic stuff?

We need another hijacking....

But I do agree, Federer won with a one-handed backhand, smaller head, and pretty classic tactics.

I think the unwritten rule of racquet selection should be amended just a bit:

Pick a racquet the heaviest racquet you can swing comfortably with the smallest head you can play consistently with

People don't typically do it but you can do specific exercises to get you aclimated to higher weight racquets. Higher the weight the more pace you can deal, and more stable your shot is. And if it is well balanced around the head with very head light stats it can still have great racquet head speed.

Pick a racquet the heaviest racquet you can swing with a good racquet head speed and with the smallest head you can consistently play with

I've written it elsewhere, yet I feel compelled to write it again:

"Internet 'experts' seeking to 'counsel' the greatest tennis player EVER TO LIVE concerning his choice of equipment??!?

Think it over......................then get the good laugh we all need in times like these........... ;)

OK, one MORE thing:

And finally (maybe!): If you can't swing a 12 oz frame fast for an hour or two at a time, you have MUCH bigger fish to fry concerning your overall fitness if you EVER hope to play tennis at a higher level. BHBH

Everyone said sampras would've won a few more majors (maybe even the french) if he'd switched to a larger headsize, Pete even said that himself in his Autobiography (Which is an amazing read btw). He said he was just too stubborn to make any sort of switch, since the wilson team or nate ferguson could've made a larger racquet feel exactly like his smaller frame. Federer already made his racquet switch earlier in his career, I think we're lucky he's not too stubborn to switch from the PS 6.0 85. Maybe when Roger writes his post career autobiography, he'll talk about how he should've switched to a 95 headsize, about how he'd have cut his backhand unforced errors in half, and maybe two statements from incredible champions that a larger headsize helps will convince the next generation to switch to a bigger head later in their career. Perhaps if Wilson takes the initiative and makes a mold of feds current stick with a bigger headsize, and the same string pattern and spacing, maybe he'll take it to a tournament and fall madly in love with it. But we'll probably never know. Nomatter what racquet he's using, Roger federer is the greatest tennis player ever. As for his racquet, I think everyone on this message board would give their non-playing arm to get their hands on one of Federer's racquets.

I agree. The Sampras book was a fun read. BHBH

Oh, and Fed IS The GOAT!!!

Yea if think he would lose control/percision if he switched. I mean it's not like he's shanking the ball all the time. Even when he played with the PS85 he was fine.

I think Wilson is referring to Federer "helping" by giving him the frame and asking if he liked it. Think back, Connors "helped" design the ProStaff, Kramer "helped" design the Auto. I'm sure they get feedback from the pros, but "helped" in the design may just be a synonym for "approved" the final product and recommended some tweaking; "too stiff", "string pattern too tight", etc.

When I got to go play with Agassi (Head promotional event), I saw him test new frames given to him by the Head reps and he gave feedback and stuff. it was great.

Dang....that does sound like a big time was had by all.

I often wonder though how much of that "feedback" is taken by the manufacturer and how much is just lip service...

It seems obvious, but I haven't seen it in this thread: There is NO free lunch!

If Sampras, or Fed, or whomever were to change to a larger head size they might, in theory garner certain advantages. And even though I suspect them to be VERY, VERY small ones, some would argue that small differences at their level is the difference between winning and losing. Fair enough! ;) HOWEVER, they would also LOSE SOMETHING. Again, probably VERY small losses, but losses nonetheless. They trade this for that, and so on....ie no NET GAIN. (uh-hum!)

The racquet companies get rich with the annual "More Power AND More Control" BS. Look at a tennis magazine from the 70's and read the ads. Almost IDENTICAL to those of today.

Federer needs a smaller frame. That wimbledon match today was too close for my liking. :)

I actually asked Federer on his site if he thinks he would play better with a 95 sq in since he frames backhand sometimes. He didn't answer me, lol.

I certainly think Fed would have won in miami this year if he had a larger frame,,,,,, especially considering it was so windy. Also, having, samster, as his personal stringer wouldn't have hurt. :)

Yea Drakulie. This type of thread is the kind that should be a sticky for all to view. The guy just finished a career Grand Slam, topped the Sampras record (which so many said he would NEVER accomplish) , won two out of three of the Slam events for the year and we still have people here that believe they know his game better than he does and they are convinced THEY are what he needs to get to the next level! Meanwhile these very guys are probably the exact same ones sitting around sipping beer trying to figure out how they just lost a 3.0 league match.

well.. we did have a good time here and gather some interesting information, but i still can see KOA sitting in his room saying...

We have to try every possible way to success.
If he wants to change his desperate means when facing nadal, murray or djokovic but still losing, maybe 95 racquet is the solution but maybe not, maybe it because of his weak backhand, or mental, or maybe he is not the best among top players n there're something about his techniques or tactics need to improve.

But 11 years good career in pro tenis, it is hard to believe that he has used wrong racquet so far

His shanks definitely showed the need

Definitely an off day yesterday. I don't know how much of a difference it would've made because he was totally framing the ball, not just off-center hits. I mean, absolute frame... Maybe a guitar-sized racquet would've helped for sure. But not a few sq.in. So painful to watch...
