Roddick should be included with 2 time slam winners like Hewitt and Safin, much the same way Murray should be included with 3 or 4 time slam winners like Kuerten and Courier. Totally different level compared to these guys (especially Cilic as Del Potro played some great matches against Roddick).Del Potro. But Roddick by far had a better career than both of them!
As much as I agree that Cilic is overrated, he did do well to recreate it by reaching the USO SF the following year which was pretty good. Although he only won 3 games against Novak in the SF.I said Cilic was a flash in the pan when he won the USO. His peak level is vastly overrated, and he's yet to come near recreating it.
Depo was different beast. He's showed up many times in the later stages of slams and gave Fedalovic all they could handle. He beat peak Fed in a USO final! Come on.
Yea true it was a decent run, but I think the way he got run over by Novak kind of proves what I was getting at. Cilic's best moment outside of his USO title was a close AO semi against Murray in 2010.As much as I agree that Cilic is overrated, he did do well to recreate it by reaching the USO SF the following year which was pretty good. I feel Del Potro is the better of the two though and certainly had more potential. Cilic is a Gaudio-style slam winner in my opinion, whereas Del Potro broke out in something more than a transitional era.
