Who's the tallest graceful ATP player you can think of?

Gael Monfils at 6'4'' is tall enough yet quick and nimble. Just compare him with most other 6'4''s in the tour.

You guys are overthinking it. When you think of graceful, just think, who most resembles a swan. Now, it's a tall task, but at least if you have a better understanding of the question you can find the correct answer, rather than just guesswork.

Hence, nowhere did I mention graceful but it's really hard to find truly graceful giants.

I know you didn't, it's just the topic of this thread. The tallest I would call graceful is Stich. He is Gael's size I think. Well, height.

There seems to be an obsession with tall players here as of late, so I figured I may as well join the club. :)

The difference with this thread though is that I am in praise of these players!

I would like to get a consensus here as to who is the most graceful tallest ATP pro tennis player?

When I say graceful, I mean you never see them tripping or falling over their feet when moving around the court.

Of recent players we can immediately rule out the likes of Raonic, Karlovic,
Del Po (yes even Del Po will trip over his feet occasionally) Querrey, Cilic (same for Cilic), Isner etc.

The only one I can think of at the moment is Medvedev 6'6".
Nominees?

Federer's shanks always remind me of a glitching robot. Normally works perfectly, but when ****** messes up, he messes up big
Reminds me when Jack Nicklaus shanked a straightforward wedge and in the presser after the journalist gave him a hard time about it and he said ‘a shank is nearly the perfect golf shot’.

Sounds about right for Federer with his small ass racquet head. I tried using the old ProStaff once and shanked every other ball.

Cilic doesn’t belong in the same sentence with Jizzner, Karlovic, etc.

He moves so much better than those guys.

Yeah but those guys are considerably taller than Cilic. It's more challenging for them to move around the court at their height.

Of course, but Cilic is known for his movement. So again, it's not logical to put him with the super-tall guys who can't move, as he is more of a 'tweener'.

I didn't say he was their height, just that he moves a lot better.

6'3" was thought to be the tallest you can get to be consistently good enough to be no.1. Becker was that tall and most of the people believed anyone taller might be too tall. However, Safin was 9'4" and became no.1, and since then, taller players became more and more athletic. Of the players 6'3" and taller, guys like Safin, Zverev, Tsitsipas,Monfils, Kyrgios and Janowicz are so athletic and moves like much smaller guys. However, I'm not so sure if they are graceful and elegant movers. I liked Safin's manly movement.

Safin was also injured a lot. Seems he never took training that seriously.

still going with FAA. Seriously he is always in balance and rarely needs to slide. Since when is 6'4 not tall? Zverez and Cilic are not graceful! They look unnatural when moving on court.

In 2000, the year Sampras finished as no.1, Safin beat Sampras at USO final to win his first slam.

Did you watch Sampras in the 90s? I don't mean on Youtube, I mean in real life. By 2000 he was running on fumes. I like Safin, but what he beat at the AO was nothing like Peak Pistol.

With Fed standing around 7'1" he seems like a pretty graceful mover. I think the cutoff for grace is around 8'5" tho, which is about where Murray stands.

Sampras was at his peak a few years earlier, but he still was good enough to be no.1. Do you think we should give Djokovic no credit for beating Federer in 3 finals of Wimbledon from 2014? I don't think so, even though we need to maintain the perspective Federer is 6 years older and much farther removed from his peak compared to Djokovic. It was still decent Federer who Djokovic beat. Even though Sampras was not at his absolute peak, he was still good enough to be YE#1 and was still perceived as the best player even in 2000.
