When Federer ended Djokovic's 40+ match winning streak at the French Open Semis, that was one of the best Clay performances I've ever seen, up there with Coria vs Nadal in Rome.

2011 Federer would be classified as Veteranerer right?

Federer has made imbeccable results the last 2 years, playing some of his best tennis ever and doing personal records, trashing everybody but Djokovic in slams. Also been beating Djokovic but not in slams. I don't get why he is being compared to nadal in this subject

Rog's results for the last two years have been as imbeccable as your posts. Which imbeccable personal records did he "do", by the way?

You can repeat that every day for the rest of you life, if you want. Still false.

Nadal by a landslide. Djokovic is heading in that direction although his seems more psychological and Nadal's decline more physical.

Federer's decline is not shocking at all, it has been impressive. The guy reached a Major final (2014 Wimbledon) at the age of 33 and two Major finals at the age of 34 (2015 Wimbledon/USO) and lost all of them to a prime/peak 10+ Major champion. He also ended as No. 2 in the world in both years. Don't wanna count Masters titles he had won and Major SFs he had reached in that period. He also reached two Major SFs in 2016, even though his form and health were dubious.

Nadal, on the other hand, started to lose to basically anyone anywhere. His losses in early rounds of Majors to the journeymen he usually owned or haven't played before. More importantly, he started to lose the big points (and winning these was his highest quality), even in the matches when he held match points. He hasn't reached a Major SF since RG 2014...so his decline is really bad and shocking, since we're talking about 14 time Major winner.

nadal it is not even close

Obviously.

The question doesn't even need to be asked.

Roger has declined gradually, but that is to be expected given his non-taxing game (relatively speaking), and the fact he's GOAT. His peak was so damn lofty he could decline 5% and still beat everybody but Nadal.

Nadal's sharp, dramatic decline isn't surprising at all. I figured he would be through by the time he was 28. He's exceeded expectations given his brutal style of play and injury-prone career.

Nadal after his 2014 RG title missed the whole summer hardcourt season including the USO due to injury (a period that he sweeped the previous year), then missed WTF and had a surgery in the off season, was even doubtful to return for the 2015 AO, then had to try to find his form back, then in 2016 started having an amazing clay court season but again got injured, pulled out of the FO, Wimb, and then without hitting a ball for 2.5 months rushed for a comeback just to not miss the Olympics for a 2nd time in a row, and now is again trying to find his form back. This is no simple decline, this was also a lot of bad luck with injuries and setbacks. It's not about giving excuses, it's about being fair and logical. You guys compare him to Federer, but Federer has been lucky to never miss anything until this year. So of course it's easier to keep momentum and stay consistant.
