Why did players stop tucking in their shirts?

Man, with that kind of slender body, you could really get the most out of a good tuck.

Probably. And, I did. I mean, when it's -10 degrees out in December, you tuck your shirt because it's f-ing cold. I'm not that slender anymore (not fat, either) and certainly not 15, and tuck in for work, for musical performances, all sort of things. But, if the temperature is favorable and comfort is really the only concern, then there's no tuck. I hate having my shirt and movement hemmed in with a tuck. It's difficult to get it to not be constraining and actually comfortable.

As for the pros, they wear them as the fashion of the day dictates.

Not sure why I’ve fallen for this thread, but for my last post I will say that, when playing tennis, I especially like tucking my shirt into long pants. Maybe that’s because it’s cold, but maybe I just like tucking into long pants more than short.The heart wants what the heart wants.

I don't see many players playing in long pants. Anyway, some bodies lend themselves better to tucking in than others: posture, overall shape, other body peculiarities might get hidden or exposed when one is wearing his polo/shirt a certain way, so everyone should choose their best, if possible. Athletic attire is great that way: one can choose whatever he likes, without much fuss.

It takes some style to pull it off. Borg didn't look nearly as good in the 90's when clothing styles changed. I hope that makes you feel better

I have that Tsonga shirt, it's ridiculously long. Very uncomfortable since it gets stuck under my butt when I crouch to return and I'm 6'2"ish.

Honestly, those Nike shirts (like Shapovalov wore at RG) not even sure that you can tuck them if you want it ...

IMO, I look better with tucked in shirt (I play 18 and over and I am way beyond that ... and kids get intimidated ... ) but I end up playing untucked ... shirtless if I want to make a statement !

Back in ST days they often covered whole pockets and were pretty lose overall (ironically the retail versions were the slimmest out of all of his sponsors).

Often I see posters here call certain pros out of shape because baggy shirts can sometimes make them look stocky. I think someone called sandgren chunky and @Jack the Hack posted a pick of him without a shirt, he’s pretty jacked. You could probably tell that if he tucked his shirt
