Man, with that kind of slender body, you could really get the most out of a good tuck.
Probably. And, I did. I mean, when it's -10 degrees out in December, you tuck your shirt because it's f-ing cold. I'm not that slender anymore (not fat, either) and certainly not 15, and tuck in for work, for musical performances, all sort of things. But, if the temperature is favorable and comfort is really the only concern, then there's no tuck. I hate having my shirt and movement hemmed in with a tuck. It's difficult to get it to not be constraining and actually comfortable.

Most recreational players will look absolutely ridiculous, if they had their shirts/polos tucked in.

As for the pros, they wear them as the fashion of the day dictates.

Not sure why I’ve fallen for this thread, but for my last post I will say that, when playing tennis, I especially like tucking my shirt into long pants. Maybe that’s because it’s cold, but maybe I just like tucking into long pants more than short. The heart wants what the heart wants.

I don't see many players playing in long pants. Anyway, some bodies lend themselves better to tucking in than others: posture, overall shape, other body peculiarities might get hidden or exposed when one is wearing his polo/shirt a certain way, so everyone should choose their best, if possible. Athletic attire is great that way: one can choose whatever he likes, without much fuss.

Back in the day everybody tucked in their shirts. Laver tucked, Borg tucked, McEnroe tucked, Edberg tucked, Becker tucked....
You forgot about Lendl tucking. :D

It takes some style to pull it off. Borg didn't look nearly as good in the 90's when clothing styles changed. I hope that makes you feel better :)

and that was just his clothes lol. His face even says “I regret everything about this.”

Tsonga did during the Rogers cup in 2014 when he beat Murray, Djokovic and Federer. Could this mean something?

I have that Tsonga shirt, it's ridiculously long. Very uncomfortable since it gets stuck under my butt when I crouch to return and I'm 6'2"ish.

Those guys who still tuck in their shirts probably think they look classy and old school, but actually they just look absolutely ridiculous.

And it's never the people who are super fit looking and in shape who do this.

It's always the fat old blokes who are tucking their shirts in and pulling their shorts up to their bellybuttons, really drawing attention to their front butts.

It's like they're trying their best to execute a Kardashian diaper butt without spending any money on implants.

I tuck or front tuck bc I don't like the feeling of my wet dri-fit shirt dangling and swinging back and forth when I'm waiting to return serve. Join the front tuck in if you don't care what other people think, like me!

Yeah I also hate those old fat guys who tuck!
Luckily I'm not old or fat so I can still tuck. :)

Honestly, those Nike shirts (like Shapovalov wore at RG) not even sure that you can tuck them if you want it ...

IMO, I look better with tucked in shirt (I play 18 and over and I am way beyond that ... and kids get intimidated ... ) but I end up playing untucked ... shirtless if I want to make a statement !

That’s what my wife told me when I tucked in my polo shirt at the tennis club. She said you look ridiculous and like a weirdo :D

Some important questions still remain.
Was Mats Wilander really the first one to untuck or did he have a predecessor?
Are there any players tucking currently on the tour?
Why did Tsonga tuck on occasion in 2014?

With global warming it's no longer necessary to tuck in your shirt as increased temperatures mean you're no longer likely to catch a chill from a draft of cool air.

I noticed there is a new trend in untucked shirts.
The shirts are becoming more and more short,
almost simulating a tucked-in look!

Check out Thiem's and Schwartzman's for example.

I'm convinced I saw Djokovic play with a tucked in shirt on several occasions.
His shirts are often pretty short. Not as short as what the guy above is talking about. Just about an inch or two too short, though I guess that’s what he prefers, so I shouldn’t say too anything.

Not true. Most of his shirts this year were pretty long.

Back in ST days they often covered whole pockets and were pretty lose overall (ironically the retail versions were the slimmest out of all of his sponsors).

His Uniqlo stuff was often called slim and tight but it actually was much looser and longer than Nike, Adidas or UA stuff.

While Novak didn't tuck his shirt it often looked like it because of the way the fabrick fell on his body.

The only time he did wear a "short" shirt would be AO 2018.

Sometimes short. Sometimes long. Sometimes he wears a thong.

Often I see posters here call certain pros out of shape because baggy shirts can sometimes make them look stocky. I think someone called sandgren chunky and @Jack the Hack posted a pick of him without a shirt, he’s pretty jacked. You could probably tell that if he tucked his shirt:)
Stan is like that. The guy looks stocky and he is freaking ripped.

Maybe something to do with shorts length as well? People were pretty much wearing microshorts back then
People be bitchin about tucked shirts being restrictive, but were they whining about that back in those days? If so, dudes would’ve been untucking their shirts in fits of rage.
