Why did they slow down the Paris Masters courts after 2010?

The Paris Bercy courts in 2010 were a joy, quick indoor HC like it's supposed to be; yet afterwards they slowed it back down to your typical homogenous sandpaper speed courts that are so common tour now.

I don't understand why though? Why do they insist on slowing EVERYTHING down? What's wrong with diversity?

Watching the matches that were played in 2010 and their were PLENTY of entertaining rallies, the crowd seemed to enjoy it no less than they did last year..

It is a shame, really.

It seems they don't want even an ounce of minimal variation in conditions.

They sell the exact same product everywhere.

This is not what made tennis exciting.

But well, I guess money drives everything...

They were particularly quick a couple of years and I think the transition to the WTF the following (?) week was not liked by many.

That said, the courts at Bercy are still a lot faster than most of the courts on tour. When Llodra and Janowicz are beating the likes of Del Potro and Murray you know the court is likely to be playing some part.
