Why don't qualies count towards H2H?

Does anyone know why qualifying matches are counted towards head to head records? These are real matches where the motivation is to get into the main draw and at least collect a paycheck for a player's efforts. I know players don't receive any prize money for winning qualies but that shouldn't diminish the nature of these matches. Just curious if anyone knew the answer.

They do get a little bit of money for winning qualifying matches. I guess they don't count them in the H2H records because they are not 'official' matches. They don't count them in the overall match record for players either. I think some players prefer it that way.

Tchocky, just go on itftennis.com instead of atptennis.com and you will live in a wonderful world where qualies count towards H2H. ;)
