Why not make players undergo doping test after their post match interviews?

Is this feasible? Instead of stalking them making them report where they are like every other hour, why not do this? Surely they cant do anything to prevent being caught, or am i missing something?

Some stuff like steroids are taking during off-season or well before competition. By competition time, the traces have left the body. So it needs to be done well before competition.

with modern technology you can detect stuff taken weeks ago.....you don't have to test right after a match. is that what you are asking?

What about those that have to be consumed nearer to the tourney, or even during the tourney itself? Are there such PEDs like that?

You mean the stuff that Rafa puts on his banana, or Roger snorts when he takes bathroom breaks. Shhh.

It is possible that some folks take stimulants prior to a match ?? Not sure if blood doping would help in tennis ??

Just wondering if someone with an injury might take cortisone (pain/inflammation) and whether the steroids in cortisone are on the banned list or not ??

Then what's with the whining that anti-doping policies in tennis are non existent?

From what I read - some substances you can take weeks before an event and it will be out of your system (undetectable) but would still give you a performance boost for a month or so. That's why WADA made out of competition testing but since a player is allowed to miss 2 tests in 18 months - they can easily take anything when they're not competing until they miss 2 tests, and then be very careful. Also in out of competition tests, players are only given urine tests which would not detect HGH or EPA (blood doping).
Some players showed great results after missing an out of competition tests.

Pro cyclists are given blood tests pretty much every day during Tour De France, which lasts about 3 weeks.. and most of them are still on juice and don't get caught. They know you can't win the Tour without cheating.

Maybe ...
People missing dope tests (consecutive ?).
Maybe not enough transparency in process.
Names of failed persons not revealed (only a few).
I am only answering what i gather to be the reasons for people whining.

Forgot the main reason: *******s' lovefest with Nadal.

Well, In-competition drug testing didn't stop the DDR athletes from doing a truck load of Turinabol Out-of-competition did it? But I'm sure all that doping didn't enhance their performance... I mean, how could it possibly when the drugs were already out of their system when competing? Doesn't make sense, no? :-?

It would not be a suprise then, and you could time it so that your system would be clear.

I remember one year the hunted Rafa down at his folks home during some celebration. He was pissed if I remember correctly.

Cortisone type drugs (prednisone) are not tested for. Steroid tests have to be very specific, since we all have steroids (androgens, estrogens, cortisol) in us at all times.

for growth hormone there is no test, synthetic deriative of hgh, supposedly used by many athletes due to this. blood doping no practical test, also nearly impossible to catch cheats. many other compounds/drugs, prohormones that are hard to detect and easy to mask.

Can't you detect HGH from blood testing?

yes, i believe you can detect HGH via blood testing...but imagine the nuisance of sticking a needle into roger once a tournament...
