Will Djokovic always be Alcaraz's bunny?

It would be funny if after this thread alcaraz stopped Nadal at the French but not Djokovic in Australia or Wimbledon.

The young Spaniard is better on clay than grass so a bigger threat to Nadal at french than Djokovic at Wimbledon.

In Nadal's backyard. Realistically the chances of Djokovic beating him at RG two years in a row were always slim.

The chances may have always been slim but nonetheless, I read many, many times here and elsewhere that Djokovic was out to 'get payback' or 'prove a point' and he was going to beat Nadal down etc. In fact, we heard similar shifts after losing to Vesely where the 'extra motivation' then became 'he needs time' and so on.

The fact is, this 'extra motivation' stuff is nonsense. Djokovic already had all the motivation he could ever need. That's not why he wins or loses.

His "bunny"?

After one Masters 1000 match that ended after a long and contested 3 setter?

Hardly.

If he was 5-0 against him with 2 of his wins coming in a BO5 format then you've got a good case.

He will however take on the role of the younger ATG that's getting better with every tournament and he will present a big roadblock going forward.

Who knows, maybe Sinner will pick up some momentum and also start challenging for slams.

In the end there was no bunny in this rivalry and they will be regarded as secondary rivals not primary rivals. Likely they will be same half of the draw at the AO and can meet in the SF.

This is fanfic. Djokovic will get his wins.
Remarkably common TFS W.

The reaction from Djokovic fans indicates that they fear this quite obviously.

Maybe some were indeed afraid (not me lel) but OP did end up being unduly bullish, so,

The fact is, this 'extra motivation' stuff is nonsense. Djokovic already had all the motivation he could ever need. That's not why he wins or loses.

Now this I agree with!

Necroposting at times is valid unless repetitive with the same theme. We already seen these TMF old Fed posts about the numbers enough plus some bad predictions.

Pancho was up 5-3 against the younger Laver then Laver started to pile up the wins. Evert won her first 6 or 7 matches against Graf then it was one way traffic the other way for the rest of the rivalry. Alcaraz likely won't have many more matches left with Djokovic so I am hoping they meet at the AO SF (don't think SInner will be in same half if I am wrong will "necropost" and bump this thread).
