not necessarily. and if you recall that at the australian open federer's movement against djokovic was pretty lousy, and he's improved it somewhat, as well as the us open court is much faster, which federer excels at. i will agree that nadal was damned close last year at wimbledon, but he's had a bit of a falling off in recent months, and consequently may not be as much of a challenger this year.

djokovic is good, but dont assume he will whomp on federer every meeting, and dont assume federer will have to play both 1 after another. the draw doesnt work that way. only thing for certain is he would have to play nadal in the final, if nadal gets that far.

Oh theres always an excuse for any of feds losses. They cant all be true.Did he ever just get beat?

The Joker should have beaten Fed at the USO and when he got his nerves together for the AO he simply beat Fed. End of story.

I dont think Feds movement was lousy at all. In fact just prior to the match he said he was at 100 percent and ready to go. Only after he lost did he come up with the expected excuse.

But I was disappointed...i thought he would have had a more original excuse this time. I thought for example that his shadows excuse in another loss showed far more originaity. I give the mono excuse only a 6 out of 10 but the shadow excuse a clear 9 out of ten.

Nadal has not done a bit of falling off. Its simply the hard court season. Wr hear this every year.

Yeah, his excuse was almost as bad as having a sore throat.

except the fact nadal also lost in his first match at rome because of poor training choices (ie playing two times in one day with nasty blisters just begging to be ripped)

im not making excuses, maybe you should go watch the federer djokovic ao match again, he's slow as hell. you're probably right, djokovic shouldve won the us open. if he hadnt choked. federer was playing subpar, but he still won

Well, atleast he played the match untill the end and didn't retire because of dizziness. As for your Djokovic should have beaten Federer at USO,he lost fair and square(or are you the one making excuses for Novak now?)and I personally don't deal with coulda,shoulda,woulda-I leave that to trolls like you.

He still has a decent chance of winning both Wimbledon and the U.S Open but we will see. Nadal is his biggest competition at Wimbledon I think, and clearly Djokovic is his closest competition at the U.S Open.

Djokovic is the wild card at this point. Djokovic does not look like a kid who are satified for this year because he won AO. This kid keeps wanting more and more. I think Djokovic will be at more than 2 slam finals this year.

US OPEN and wimbeldon

i think he will win wimbeldon and US Open, remember he still made it to the semi in AO even with mono, which is ridiculous. His fitness is just getting better and better but US Open may be a little more difficult because of joker's game. i think joker is getting a little too arrogant. it will be tough for him to win french because of nadal. Concerning wimbeldon, dont forget the olympics are this year too so that may be a factor. But federer hasnt been beat on grass in what 4 years?

yeah, his percentage wins to nadal is even better, but nadal's is more impressive, given the surface and the amount of wins. but we just have to wait and see.

Roger at best 2 out of the remaining 3. At worst 1 GS. No way he's not winning even one, bar health issues.

I do agree. It will be very tough to win any slam this year for Roger. at wimbledon, he has the best chance but he will have to beat nadal and Novak both, which will be very tough. Novak has proven that if healthy, he can be a force on grass courts. and has proven that he is better than federer on hard courts.

Laughable BS. Better than Federer on hard-courts? Based off of 1 slam and a few other results this year? To be sure, he's competent on them. But no, he is not better than Fed on HC. Federer is arguably the best-ever player on HC, and some quitting punk like Djoko isn't better than him.

I think he can win the US open if he can avoid playing the Joker.

I think 1 or 2 slams this year. Djokovic will make some kind of dent on Federer's dominance (and Nadal too), IMHO.

It looks like 2008 could be tight matches between top 3 guys.

It looks like other young guns need more time to mature(if they do indeed) and some revived older talents aren't quite enough to tople top 3 guys....

The way he's playing? Maybe one, maximum. Either Wimbledon which compliments his serve and volley or the U.S. Open. Two of them would be a bonus.
