He has never had the problems at the US Open against Djokovic that he has in Australia and if the draw opens up at Wimbledon (yes, this one will require a little luck) he's right there to vulture one. I would love an AO but he's cursed there since 2009.

AO and Wimbledon are very unlikely. His best shot is USO due to the slower conditions and the extremely favourable draws he gets o_O

To be fair this year RG is his biggest chance for 21. Then outside of the RG, obviously USO if he get a good draw. But if he get Medvedev/Zverev/Tsitsipas/Rublev(let say 2 of them), not a chance. AO and RGO 2022 will be his last chance, as he still will be RG favorite, but i don't think he will win it next year, but it's a possibility.

I mean, he lost a final to Novak there, it's not like Novak isn't a threat to him there. Nadal also hasn't beaten Djokovic off clay since 2013 final. Anything is possible.

Nadal can certainly win USO again if he avoids Djokovic, Zverev and Medvedev en route

Yes I absolutely agree that Djokovic would be the favourite in a US Open match up but I think Nadal is more of a threat to Djokovic there than at the AO. I don't think Nadal is losing 100% of the time to Zverev or Med either, it would be 50/50.

B05 and B03 are different. Dont think Zverev takes 3 sets against RAFA on high bouncing slow USO surface.

Seeing this again would be the best thing ever.

I voted no.

I can be wrong, as I can't read the future. But, after observing how much he suffered (almost couldn't breath) to beat Medvedev at the USO, I think he is done winning Majors ourside clay.

I hope I'm completely wrong though!

His best chance is still at the US Open. At Wimbledon he needs a lot of luck to be able to go deep there I think.

actually, i would rather say 20 is his final number. he losts many points with longer rally in this FO. i am not sure whether he can even reach this RG final.

For starters he has a good chance at this Wimbledon for sure. And gazing into my crystal ball, I would say he even has a very good chance,

Djokovic and Nadal will be in separate halves,
Organizers will rig Nadal-Federer QF,
Next Gen will be upset prone on grass,

What does this add up to? Nadal defeats Federer QF and then draws a fluke semi-finalist with a big serve ie Raonic, Opelka. So we then have Nadal in the final - probably against Djokovic, who he has a good shot against, and against anyone else, he definitely wins the title. So it should be interesting to see.

How are Djokovic and Nadal sure to be in opposite halves? Medvevev will still be no 2 (or 1) right?

Because they are in the same half now, and it would be too suspicious for RG and Wimbledon to put the big three in the same half in consecutive tournaments. So the Wimbledon organizers will lock in the most intriguing matchup, Nadal-Federer quarterfinal, and fill Djokovic's draw on the other side with next gen landmines.

Probably. To me any slam he's in he has a chance to win. When all it really takes is a Djokovic loss to completely blow up a draw, anything is possible. As Djokovic gets older he will have more inexplicable losses - so will Nadal - but how and when it happens will obviously be a big key to Nadal winning again off the mud. If I had to guess will those stars align for Rafa? Yes.

I think this year is his last chance at Wimbledon. Federer is not fully back yet, and the youngsters still lack the belief, especially at W. Djokovic is looking very incosistent as of late, and more vulnerable than ever, even if he keeps winning somehow. Nadal is looking more error prone as well, but groundstrokewise not as bad as Novak, who has the better movement of the two.
Given how tight it was last time, he could pull it off gain, depending on the draw.

Would definitely bet on it, one atleast. Novak won't be there to stop him every single time and who else is there?

My prediction is one more USO and one more Wimbledon but it could easily be more.

It would be awesome. Like literally any of them would be a milestone:
AO is DCGS
Wimby is 3+ slams on each surface
USO is tying Sampras and Fed's record there and having two different slams with with 5+ titles (on two different surfaces)

So I really hope so and don't really care which of them it is too much because any would be a big deal

I won't say he will, but Rafa CAN win all three of the other slams.

Sometimes I feel his off clay prowess gets massively downplayed. He is not the fav at any of the other three, but he is one of the top contenders for them all for sure.

Sadly, I'd say no. He could win the USO if the draw falls apart or he somehow manages to get his nerves back in order. Too many winning positions thrown away in recent times and the chasing pack are only getting better. Well, most of them.

Nadal likes the USOpen. He seems to have checked the Wimbledon box and is over that. Of course, a number of players don’t like playing in extra taxed England.

That's why he played in 2018 like he did vs Del Potro and Djokovic? Or how he tried to comeback vs Federer in 2019? After his loss vs Müller in 2017 he said he regreted having gifted the first two sets because he had the feeling he could do something big there. He wants it. Give him at W his 2017 USO draw and he wins it. Or Djokovic's 2021 W. It's not he won more USOs because he likes it more. There's more to it than that.

At his age, I think he has a choice. FO or W…. It seems like a no Duh.

Yes, he is willing to sacrifice W for RG, if needed, that I'd say is certain. I just hope his foot lets him play as much as he decides to and he gives as a good season with epic fights, wimbledon included.

Ironically, I saw him play in DC Before injury. I was lucky to pick earliest part of the week…. Knowing how horrible DC weather is…. I presumed the earliest part of the week would be best. Packed house… for his practices as well as match. A 250 venue to watch Rafa is a total treat! Not a bad seat in The house. Huge Treat!!!
