Him retiring after a Slam win has always been almost expected, in terms of his mindset I'm sure he's aware of the lesser competition without Big 5 in the way and how draws can break these days. Maybe it's just Ruud and Rune motivating him as he can't possibly view either as his equal.

I don’t know… Call me naive, but my dream had always been to make it through life never hearing about Richard Gasquet’s underwear.

He already won a Grand Slam title, so that's why probably he didn't play anymore this year.

But Roger called him a clown during their first meeting in Madrid 2015 just because Nick was winning. That's not really humble of him.

Nadal called Kyrgios disrespectful after he lost to him in Mexico. Toni Nadal also called Kyrgios uneducated afterwards. The fact is, Nadal was the one who stalled and delayed Kyrgios' serve in that match. That's hardly humble.

Djokovic never call his rivals with bad names like that.

Nick would likely have beat 1 or 2 of these players: Djokovic, Alcaraz, Sinner, Medvedev, Zverev, Rune or Hurkacz to win a slam.
I see his biggest challenge against Djokovic or Medvedev. But if he's truly focused and on he could beat the others from their silly mental mistakes.

That's right, generally he has best chances are for Wimbledon or Australian Open.

All he needs to do is reach the Grand Slam final and maybe he will succeed.

Talk is cheap. He said that in order to win a slam, preparation is 6-9 months. He's out of shape and doesn't have the discipline to make a legitimate comeback. He's not Roger and can't come back and win after a lengthy break.
