Will Nick Kyrgios come back motivated and full of ambition after his injury?!

Had to look him up being only 28. Damn, although that speaks to his early success as a 19 year old.

Him retiring after a Slam win has always been almost expected, in terms of his mindset I'm sure he's aware of the lesser competition without Big 5 in the way and how draws can break these days. Maybe it's just Ruud and Rune motivating him as he can't possibly view either as his equal.

Who cares? We've got better and much more talented players to focus on like Rune, Sinner, Alcaraz. Kyrgios is a has-been nobody who's peak was having the weakest Wimbledon draw in history to flop his way into a final and is going to ride that "achievement" as long as he can. I would prefer he just retire and leave tennis for good.

I love Nick and have enjoyed his commentary from California on TC. He's not smart or articulate, but he's funny and knows inside dope. Who else knew before today that Gasquet has filthy underwear and Almagro was "totally hated" in the locker room? Or that "Roger is by far the most humble of the big three"?

Bring on more Nick!

Nobody cares about him anymore. He clearly was never arsed about the sport and was finished years ago.

One fugazi slam run where he choked multiple leads in the final doesn’t count.

There’s like 60 younger and better players right now, he’s pushing 30. He’s not a starboy anymore.

me too. rare crossover star for our sport...not super-famous but draws attention outside of tennis and that's huge. think how different the sport was in the 70s/80s with players a big part of pop culture...so much fun as a fan whereas today if you ask to put the tennis match on on a tv at the gym or something it's like, 'what?'

Yes. He will surely come back a far better player after sustaining serious injuries to his knee and wrist, and then once again get the luckiest draw of all time and have a chance to win a slam

Nick Kyrgios wants to come back from the injury more motivated,so hungry to success.

He even stated that: “I hope one day I will be able to win the Grand Slam, after which I will just finish my career.”

Do you believe in this positive transformation Nick Krygios or will it only end with empty words?!

I don’t know… Call me naive, but my dream had always been to make it through life never hearing about Richard Gasquet’s underwear.

Now thanks to Nick Kyrgios, that dream is dead.

He already won a Grand Slam title, so that's why probably he didn't play anymore this year.

But Roger called him a clown during their first meeting in Madrid 2015 just because Nick was winning. That's not really humble of him.

Nadal called Kyrgios disrespectful after he lost to him in Mexico. Toni Nadal also called Kyrgios uneducated afterwards. The fact is, Nadal was the one who stalled and delayed Kyrgios' serve in that match. That's hardly humble.

Djokovic never call his rivals with bad names like that.

big question is what physical shape he's in. with that serve, for a set or two he's a threat to anyone if he's on. but a major, that's a tall order...7 matches, bo5...IF he comes back in no-joke good shape and IF the injuries are truly in the rear-view mirror, then MAYBE there's a glimmer of hope.

Nick would likely have beat 1 or 2 of these players: Djokovic, Alcaraz, Sinner, Medvedev, Zverev, Rune or Hurkacz to win a slam.
I see his biggest challenge against Djokovic or Medvedev. But if he's truly focused and on he could beat the others from their silly mental mistakes.

That's right, generally he has best chances are for Wimbledon or Australian Open.

All he needs to do is reach the Grand Slam final and maybe he will succeed.

After all, he was already in the Wimbledon final, but Djokovic put up strong resistance.

It sounds like he wants to try. That hasn’t even helped Thiem so I’m not betting on a slam for Kyrgs

Nick is done IMO

He won't play for a while, and then he'll realize how much he loves/misses the game and he'll try to come back at 31-32

He’s much better as a commentator than a tennis player! I think he’s seen an opportunity and he loves it already. Don’t see him playing much longer.
A lot of right, but he has a talent, and it looks like he wasted it!!.

he has a short time to achieve success, it's possible that he understood it, or that's just what he's talking about... I hope he actually starts playing with his heart!!!

Now be fair, Nick beat Nadal in a slam, defeated all three of the Big 3 and was once ranked #11. He was a great, great player. I love his commentary and he will improve, but he's never going to be as good in the booth as he was on the court.

Yeah I was being a bit harsh to be fair. He’s had some top wins and great wins to be fair. I just think he will enjoy it in the booth more. He seems at home on there! Lo.

Talk is cheap. He said that in order to win a slam, preparation is 6-9 months. He's out of shape and doesn't have the discipline to make a legitimate comeback. He's not Roger and can't come back and win after a lengthy break.

Clearly not if he makes outrageous claims such as saying that there is a tennis player more humble than the Humble Bull.

So much salt. Nick is kind of a ****** but he's obviously very talented and a lot of fun to watch. You want the sport to grow or not? Stop negging on players who put eyes on the game.
