Wilson Crossfire 2's starting to hurt. Suggestions for shoe w/good forefoot cushion?

Well it seems that my honeymoon with the Wilson Crossfire 2's is over. While they are surely one of the best offerings on the market currently, I've developed some pretty bad pains in my forefoot, and the lacing system kind of cuts into the front of my ankle too much... so I'm gonna have to bail on them. I've had this problem with a number of shoes, particularly adter several outings......the forefoot cushioning seems to degrade with time, and my feet pay the price.

I have tried, so far, the Diadora Speedzones, Adidas A3 Accelerate, Nike Vapor Speed, Nike Resolve Max, Wilson Crossfire 2, and New balance 1001's. The Speedzones murdered my feet, the A3 accelerates' sole wore out too quickly for the price, the Vapor Speeds suffered from the "heel-popping" syndrome, the NEw Balance were way too clunky....the Nike REsolves so far have been the best for me, although they have very little ventilation, making them a tough choice for summer ball.

Any other suggestions along these lines ? : fairly wide forefoot, medium to medium-high arch, and ample and durable forefoot cushioning, decent ventilation, durable sole, and not too heavy/clunky?

Breakpoint....I've tried the Barricade 3's in a store, but they felt kind of "high" off the ground compared to shoes I am used to wearing....they also felt a bit bulky and stiff...is this characteristic of Barricades or maybe it's a function of having not been broken in?

anyway, I might very well give them a go if it's just a matter of breaking them in....at this point my main goal is to find something with good support and cushioning that won't deteriorate/compress quickly....also I hear there are Barricade 4's coming out soon? wonder when?

Monologuist,

Since you are in L.A area, check out the Prince QT Response over at you know where. I'm pretty sure you know the place I'm referring to.

I just picked up two pairs and they fit great!!!! They run wide at the toe area so you wont get black toes. No need to break them in. They are soft out of the box.

POGO...thanks for the tip...I just got a pair of KSWISS Defier's at youknowwhere....they're working out for now....although they don't do much in the looks department. IF they go south, I might try out those Prince's....there's also the Prince T10 that people have spoken highly of.
