Worst HC player who reached Top 10 in the ATP rankings.

As Casper Ruud enters the Top 10 in the live rankings (unless Sinner beat both Zverev and Novak, Ruud will officially be a top 10 player in the next rankings), is he the player with the worst ever winning percentage on HC to enter the top 10?

He is still young and is primarily a clay-court specialist but his Hardcourt stats are terrible, winning only 21 out of 50 matches (42% win ratio).

Has there been a player reaching the top 10 with worse HC stats than this?

Alberto Berasategui was a pretty terrible hardcourter for a top 10.

Maybe some mug from weak era like Gaudio was worse, but Ruud is quite terrible. He doesn’t deserve the place in top 10 after the shameful losses to mugs at USO and especially RG.

also bruguera had pretty much no results on hard when cracked the top 10 in 1991(eventually he improved on that surface)

Yes. Gaston Gaudio. Won 42.1% of hardcourt matches for his career. At least Ruud will improve and get better and not end his career there.
