Wrist Help

I have been reading many prior posts about the wrist's role in a forehand, and I think it is making me more confused.

I think I am using too much wrist in my forehand and I want to try to correct this to prevent any injuries. It should be noted that I have a full western grip. Before contact with the ball, my wrist is cocked back as far as it can go while simeltaneously pointed towards the ground as far back as it can go. When I swing I flick my wrist up and brush up against the ball to achieve a lot of topsin.

From what I have read this is not good. So I am trying to understand the correct way to swing. Do I **** my wrist back but then let my arm and shoulder generate the spin, while keeping my wrist in that cocked position? I have watched slow motion videos of various pros and it seems like they are doing that to an extent, but it also looks like they flick their wrist up when swinging as well.

I just saw a post that had a link to this video: http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=qZWRAY_lTX8&feature=related

This is what I am talking about. Will this kind of motion lead to injuries or this is a correct and safe way to swing? Thanks

Once again. :)

Did you read the post where I had this video?

In the video shown, Federer is using momentum and a touch of force to swipe up the back of the ball.

This is fine and is a way to generate more topspin. However, sometimes this can develop injuries depending on the person, the technique, their timing, etc...

It is very difficult to say if this will cause you specifically injury because everyone is different.
