Funny that Yonex had (or still has) a reputation as a "chick stick"...lol. I have a bunch of them ranging from 30 year old R-7's to RDS ones - all of them are great frames.
If anything, I think that the Babolat Pure Drive has now become the current chick stick..LOL...just by the # of WTA pro's using them. Doesn't bother me, I currently use a couple of PD's and make no apologies for the easy power they provide
I agree on this...here in Japan there are chicks everywhere with Babolat Pure Drives and Pure Drive Lite frames. I am not a personal fan of Babolat frames, I never have been. Just good marketing I guess. Most people I know who use a Pure Drive, it isn't the frame they should be using!Funny that Yonex had (or still has) a reputation as a "chick stick"...lol. Yonex are sponsoring Soccer teams here and they also have a range of race bicycles...talk about branching out!!Add Chung to that list too! Really nice moves by Yonex. Also noticed some Yonex snowboards in the Winter Olympics..what's up with that?!!
I'd say the "chick stick" label is actually starting to fade pretty quickly. Wawrinka, Kyrgios, Johnson, Herbert, Shapovalov, Tiafoe, Berankis, Albot, Chung, Nishioka. They're washing away the chick stick label.
To add to your list, They also have Marton Fucsovics (HUN), Casper Ruud (NOR), and Alexander Bublik (KAZ), all hovering around the top 100. Also, 2017 junior world #1's Axel Geller (GER) and Whitney Osuigue (USA) play with Yonex, so the future is looking bright.
That they are:Yonex is looking good with their team right now.
That they are:
Stan, Kyrgios, Johnson, Troicki, Chung, Shapo, Mmoh, Herbert, Berankis, Nishioka, Soeda, Tiafoe, Paes...
not bad, but other than Stan, no major champions as of yet...

Not a bad group Hopefully majors will become a bit more available in the next few years; they've been pretty hard to come by unless you were a part of that cabal.
Who of the above look like potential major winners, though? Kyrgios, Shapo... who else? Chung??
Kyrgios--definitely. Shapo--possibly. Chung--still needs more time to be considered a legit contender.

Didn't Paes go back to Head? I've seen recent videos of him with the latest Speed paintjob and blue af stringsHerbert is a major champion.
Paes is also a major champion but I don't believe he's won a major since switching to Yonex.

Tiafoe has been using the Yonex Poly Tour Pro 1.25 since the Laver Cup.Looks like he was using Hyper G this weekend, or was it PTP? Hard to tell on camera if it was more green than yellow.
The first few tournaments this year, the young guys are making strides and starting to win matches. That is without the big 4 around and Stan still struggling to get back to fitness though! The next few tournaments will be interestingNot a bad group Hopefully majors will become a bit more available in the next few years; they've been pretty hard to come by unless you were a part of that cabal.
