there is a saying in indian subcontinent that once a person becomes so famous, that other people becomes jealous of his success, that this jealousy curses the person good luck and turns his good luck into bad luck

now let apply this theory to federer up and down career

after reaching 10 consecutive grand slam finals from 2005 Wimbleodn to 2007 US Open, he was first stuck by mono disease which ended his 10 consecutive final steak when djokovic defeated him in straight sets in AO 2008.

in his next grand slam final FO 2008, he was humiliated by nadal when he lost the final in straight sets (his only straight sets lose in slam final) and third set score was 0-6 a bagel (again his only 0-6 loss in a grand slam final).

next came wimbledon 2008 final, where he lost his first grass and also non clay grand slam final to nadal in 5 sets

in A0 2009 final, again he lost his first hard court slam final to nadal

then in US Open 2009 he lost to Del potro his first defeat to first time grand slam finalist.

i rest my case, you have the floor

There are no such things as curses, so if you're offering up this "saying" as anything other than yet another version of a proverb about jealousy, which is universal, the endeavor is pointless.

i rest my case

What case? You haven't really said anything. At first Federer won most of his slam finals, but then he started losing more often. Is that news?

Why did you omit the 2009 FO and 2009 Wimbledon finals from your summary? Inconvenient facts?

Whenever a player becomes too successful, sureshs posts a thread saying that the player will win his next tournament. Then the player inevitably loses. That's the indian curse.
