even if he had been 100 % he would still have lost to Youzhny because he could not handle the shots Youzhny directed to his forehand side. The points would have lasted longer though. Toward the end of the match, Nadal looked at Youzhny in total disbelief, and that had nothing to do with his injury. The other guy simply outplayed him.

Honestly, don't you think he would have pulled out if he and his team really felt he was too injured to compete at the highest level?

All athletes are taught that if you suit up and take the field/court/pitch/gridiron, you are FIT to play. Why say something AFTER?

Look, I like Nadal a lot. He's just got some irritating handlers. If you were to ask him, he would never take credit away from the guy who just beat him.

If his website people want to give Novak the assist, let's at least make it fun like at an NHL game, "Novak to Youzhny....he shoots, he scooooooooores!
