Image a 98" PD with big pop, power and control..
That will spark a new industry standard in everyone else trying to copy..
Oh He-l yeah! Or a Pure Aero 98.Image a 98" PD with big pop, power and control..

if you havent liked the previous PDs then i guarantee you wont like this one. The PD has been pretty consistent over the years.Hoping the new model isn't just another paean to 'The Babolat Song'; I.e. 'I wish that I knew what I know now, when I was younger...'
Excuse me. It is what is keeping us from going pro!I don't get this whole Pure Drive 98 nonsense. You think 2 square inches in head size will make a difference if all else is equal?
me too...and yes! the 2012 PJ seems unstoppable. Not a fan of the looks, doesn't beat the 2012 Black Drive and the 2001 Swirly Bowling Ball rackets, that's for sure!

Are you kidding? The Pure Aero VS is a completely different frame. String pattern, beam width, beam shape, stiffness, etc.Really? Then why all the fuss about the Pure Aero VS 98 ??
Shouldn't Sock and Johnson etc just cut the "nonsense" and play with a Pure Aero 100 ??
And why aren't you swinging with a Pure Drive 100 or any 100 frame anyway??
Are you kidding? The Pure Aero VS is a completely different frame. String pattern, beam width, beam shape, stiffness, etc.
And I am swinging a 100 frame, the PK I'm using is a 100!
Take several seats
Um... the Pure Aero has a Aeromodular beam all the way around. The Pure Aero VS is the Aero Pro + Pure Control, an Aeromodular throat with a PC beam shape. Completely different rackets.Wow, didn't realize you jointed the 100 club, good for you.
Then again, this "Pure Aero VS is a is a completely different frame" argument can be applied to the proposed Pure Drive 98 too: how do you know it won't have these different traits from Pure Drive 100?
And for sake of argument, I will argue: for the Pure Aero series, the ESSENCE is its ultra Aero beam shape, so the NATURE of the VS and Pure Aero wasn't that different for me, at least not like Pure Aero VS and Pure Strike VS Tour.
It's like Wilson Ultra 97 vs 100, according to your argument, they shouldn't exist as 2 models, but fans of the 2 respective models sworn by their respective head sizes.

As for creating a Pure Drive 98, the only purpose would be to possibly making it a players frame weight and change up the string pattern, more closed or even 18x20. Other than that, i don't see people wanting a 98. Instead, if you look at what Babolat currently offers, they would rather go bigger ie. 107 and 110.
Here my turn to use the "I don't get it" statement: Yes, the hoop beam shape of the PA VS is same as PC, but like I said, the ESSENCE of the PA VS is the Aero beam (I should say Aero SHAFT), not the hoop beam.
For me personally, the PA VS won't be that different even if the hoop is aero-shaped and not PC like. And that's not just me, as expressed by my several pals who are using PA VS.
How do you explain the popularity of Wilson Tour 95 thru Ultra 97s if there' re really no demand for a powerful 96-98 players frame?
Yeah you are correct, the essence of the Aero line is the Aero throat shape. Personally for me, the PA VS just feels differently, low powered, much more flexy and controlled.
The Pure Strike is Babolats version of the powerful 98 frame. But I'm on sure side, it would be interesting to see a Pure Drive 98. But if they were to take the PD 100 and just shrink it down to 98, it would be kind of pointless. There would need to be certain changes to justify the addition.
thats what she saidSHAFT
thats what she said
There's also and American/English site that has details. Just do a search.Dutch website had some sweet pics of it.
Also lists the RA as 69 strung
PS 98s are somewhat powerful for a 98, but nowhere near as spinny as PD. (I personally hate the dense middle mains on Project One-Seven16X19 too)
The essence of PD is POWERFUL AND Spinny on a SEMI-Aero shaft/hoop beam shape. So PS 98 line (which is on a flat beam) is NOT fitting all the bills here.
I am sure the PD 98 will have some modifications, just like the PA VS. (But I hope no PC hoop beam though
I just keep my finger cross hoping it will be at least comparable to a Wilson Ultra 97, if not better.
I may have missed it but are they releasing a Pure Drive 98? Wouldn't that be similar to the Pure Strike 16x19 (different beam, etc)?
thank you for your opinion.I've seen the racket... looks absolutely terrible, a HUGE step down from this years model, I think it looks like a 20$ junior racket.... IMO
Very pretty. What exactly is the new innovasion or new improvements that they made on these pure drives ?looks like some pictures are starting to pop up around the web. https://www.instagram.com/p/BV835A0hrIA/?taken-by=matchtoughtennisacademy
That is really fugly. Those we have found web links with the stick is that SO DIFFICULT instead of mentioning them to JUST F POST THEM. For gods shake.

Not at all; but a Pure Drive with a somewhat thinner beam (dunno, around 22mm) and slightly smaller headsize at around 67RA strung, yeah perhaps.I don't get this whole Pure Drive 98 nonsense. You think 2 square inches in head size will make a difference if all else is equal?
Part of me wishes I hadn't seen that paintjob. Those we have found web links with the stick is that SO DIFFICULT instead of mentioning them to JUST F POST THEM. For gods shake.

Everything hinges on the actual colour of the blue and that can only be judged in the 'flesh'.
In design terms, it seems a simpler and less busy one and that is preferable.
Read my post about 10 posts up.Very pretty. What exactly is the new innovasion or new improvements that they made on these pure drives ?
the only ppl i know who use it are 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0 male league players.I tried to use the PD twice in the past few years. It provides more power and spin then anything I've ever used before but it feels like crap and lacks control big time. Why anyone would want to use such a frame is beyond me. It felt like I was playing with a kids toy, not a tennis racket. The only people around here that use a PD are kids, women or old guys who can't supply their own power. Sorry.... but I tell it like it is.
Where did this come from?People say that DR98 and 100 are alternatives of PD.
