Mark Twain published Ulysses S. Grant's memoirs.

The “S” in Grant’s name didn’t stand for anything but stuck once Ohio Congressman Thomas Hamer miswrote it as ''Ulysses S. Grant''.

Most people remember Truman Capote for "In Cold Blood" but I much prefer his novella that was turned into the vehicle for Audrey Hepburn's classic film performance as Holly Golightly. Something about a morning meal at a fancy jewelry store famous for their blue boxes. It was also the vehicle for Oscars for Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer for Best Score and Best Song.

Just some trivia for my huckleberry friends.

Tom Sawyer, I liked a lot. The sequel, Huck Finn? Not so much. Perhaps Tom and Huckleberry were supposed to be Mark Twain in his youth?

"TOM!"

No answer.

"What's gone with that boy, I wonder? You TOM!"

Ground control to Major Tom had dialogue ("I'm sitting in my tin can") in "A Space Oddity" while HALeventually stopped responding in "2001: A Space Odyssey."

Thomas Muster is the last Tom to win a major, off the top of my mind. Stringertom needs to get his act together and partner with Martina Hingis in the U.S. Open mixed...
I would like to partner with the Swiss Miss but the chosen sport would be couch hockey where I have amazing skills at putting the biscuit in the basket. We might also enter mixed dubs in The Horizontal Bop category.

What about Tomas Berdych. Has he not won a slem yet.
What about the Bryan brothers, Tim and Tom ?

Celestial Great Dane puppies.
pail%20puppies%2008.jpg
Some of them look like dalmatians.
Regarding the black and white ones in the center, black face with white around the nose, I have a couple of brothers who look just like that near the milk booth a block away.
Regarding the one who has a black patch across the left eye, just above the white dog, there is one pup like that on my way to the park. His mother comes up to me, but he is afraid of me, and follows me but wont come close. If i approach him, he barks and backs off. Dear chap !

No dalmatians here sir, just Great Danes. I kind of like the Alsatians, Great Danes and to a lesser extent Dobermans but was never a fan of Chihuahuas though at one time we've cross bred a Doberman with a Chihuahua and its offsprings were white Chihuahuas and black Chihuahuas; the black ones had the temperament of Dobermans/Rottweilers while the white ones are just plain Chihuahuas.

Dementieva's Olympic Gold...

Don't tick off Demented Elena by asking about her Majors!

Elena had a dog day in the French apres-midi sun of the RG'04 final vs countrywoman Myskina, who later got quite demented over publication of topless photographs taken of her in 2002 were published without her authorization.

Elena was very nervous that day. I met both Myskina and Sharapova in San Diego in 2004. Myskina did a photoshoot for GQ and the photographer sold some outtakes.

Dedans has compared Elena to a horse. She has nice legs for a horse.

Incidentally, Sharapova didn't make the Chargers that summer.

While I am a self professed legz man, I like mine in pairs and not quartets. It would have been nice if Elena had gotten her first leg of the quartet that is admirable and known as the CGS. Then the others may have come along. Instead, she was second fiddle in the Russian strings section just three months later. Hail to her though for winning Gold at Beijing'08.

Stringertom needs more than two legs, so give him eight. He's a Spiderman!

Build me a woman, make her ten feet tall
You got to build me a woman, and give her eight legs long
Don't make them short, make them long, long, long...

A great movie centered on a real life situation involving transgender issues, Dog Day Afternoon was released the year before Caitlyn ran, jumped and threw like a man in Montreal for the Olympic Gold.
Montreal reminds me of Lasse Viren.

Seeing him win the 5k and 10k, and perhaps seeing his face as he crossed the finish line is probably what inspired me to get into running a couple years later.

I have heard rumours he blood doped.

There are rumors one of our legendary poasters food dopes and is inspired to run only if it's towards an AYCE buffet approaching closing time. I would like to see the look on his face when they shutter the doors just as he steps onto their property.
