I heard on the news this morning that there are plans for a new tennis, pickeball, and fitness center to be built in Roswell, GA. Roswell is about 20 miles or so North of downtown Atlanta. The Krause family, who lost their daughter to cancer a few years ago, will name the center after her and will be providing the funds to build the center. It will consist of more than 135 tennis courts, including 80 clay courts making it the biggest clay court center in the nation as well as having an indoor facility.
This is huge news for the surrounding areas. They hope to have the first phase completed by Summer/Fall 2019. Hopefully USTA will consider moving a few of their Southern State/Sectional tournaments to this center. It would be more centrally located and much easier to access than some of the places they currently use.
Here is an article I found earlier this morning. I'm sure there will be more to come.
