I am a Federer fan. Nothing would make me happier than to see Roger winning at least 2-3 GS before he retires. He is the GOAT, after all. However, based from the last 5 months of RF's play, I am trying to convince myself if he can still win another GS. If he does, I think he can win 1 more. Hopefully he can do it in either French Open or Wimbledon. I'd be the happiest if he wins at least 2-3 GS before he retires. What do you think? How many GS can he win before retiring?

RG2019.

If we’re dreaming, over Nadal in five gruelling sets.

Nothing would feel sweeter and well, I want the sweetest.

Exactly! Three sets in favor of RF should it!

I’d trade an RG final over Nadal with any number of slams moving forward. I’m not behind the idea he gave up trying, as pragmatic as that may have been.

I want to see him conquering his demons the way Nadal did his at Wimbledon 2008. I want for him to conquer mine.

That’s the only thing incomplete for me as a fan of Roger Federer and it’s an awful lot to hope for.

Fortunately I’m not the one out there, he is.

Unfortunately 0. But I don't think Nadal and Djokovic will catch his 20 GS total.

At the end I feel like it will be something like :

Federer - 20
Nadal - 19
Djokovic - 17

I think he may win 1-2 at most. He very easily could win 0 more as his form has already declined since AO18, which was already a stepdown from AO17. I think he might have another run in him. The problem with these predictions though is that as soon as he wins one, his chances of winning more go up significantly so it makes predictions difficult. Probably about 50/50 him getting another one, most likely AO where he is fresh, or Wimbledon. This AO unlikely as Djokovic will most likely win it. He's not winning FO and USO is a little too late in the season for him to be in good form these days. One last Wimbledon to equal Navratilova's stunning 9 Wimbledon record would be very nice though!

I do hope he wins 1 more at Wimby!

At this point (and this could change) I feel like Fed has 1 more maximum but probably none. Nadal has 2 maximum but probably 1. Djokovic I'm really not sure about but I think 2-4 more,

so Fed 20, Nadal 18 and Djokovic 17 or 18 is my best guess given the way they are all playing at the moment

Fed can add one more. The key is staying healthy. It would be sweet if he wins another US open. It used to be his hunting ground- dishing out bagels to Hewitt and hitting unbelievable tweener to set up match point against Djoker...

Unlikely, Nadal is not winning only one more RG or Grand Slam in general.

I hope Fed can win another Slam. I think it's more unlikely than likely, but certainly not impossible.
How can you totally rule out a 20 Slam winner and world no.3 if he hits good form and gets a decent draw?

Funny thing is he secures his Grand Slam record better by not playing any of Grand Slams, or dropping out early, because, you know, he is 37.

On a Slam, give healhy Djokovic a Federer in decent form reaching second week in tournament and Federers fans traditionally applauding Djokovic on unforced errors and Djokovic will very likely win it. If Federer retires tomorrow, even Nadal might reach 20 at RG, but Djokovic will not have enough 'fuel' for 20 without Federer playing to motivate him.

And BTW, Federer already had his swan song with 3 Slams, while Djokovic was 'recovering his motivation', for 2 years. Federer even in good form and with favorable draw still has to win BO5 against Djokovic, and there is nothing that can make Djokovic 'play' like he did at ATP18 finals, on any of remainig Grand Slams of his career, against Nadal or Federer, be it finals or earlier in tournament.

I'd put my entire life savings on him not winning a GS.

He's never won one now so why he start this late into his career.

2016: "Murray is invincible, nobody can beat him"
2017: "Nadal is invincible, nobody can beat him"
2018: "Djokovic is invincible, nobody can beat him"
Nobody said that about Murray. :-D

Remember Federer and Nadal were injured all 2016.

Impossible to predict that far ahead. This year he's been plagued with injuries. Thusfar in his career injuries may have had very little impact on his clay season but eventually it will. Winning RG beyond 2020 when he will be 34 is not a certainty.

Exactly a decade after his first one because why the ‘eff not Roger Federer?

Nice! in reality, I feel like having a heart attack every time Roger plays. my goodness.
He’s older now but so am I and if its five goddamned sets of heart attacks so be it, I’ll be in it every step of the way. Maybe the last time ever watching a tennis match in quite the same way.

Maybe that’s what I mean by completing my journey as a Federer fan.

I picked two but I know it's a pipe-dream.

UO 2019
AO 2020

And I don't want him to win RG, those are for Rafa. I don't want Novak catching either one of them.
