Both are the same I believe. K7 has a pallet now under the grip. I have not checked under the grip of ASL3 yet. However both in L4 with syn grip feel perfect size without an OG. Once i switched to leather on the K7 then I added an OG it also felt perfectly fine and similar to TC95.

If k7 has a pallet now under the grip does that suggest it could be changed if say the size or shape didn't suit? (Like on the custom frames or on head frames).

Make sure you don't fly away with the racquet before it even hits the ball! I foresee truck load of tungsten tape in your future, good sir.

P.S: joking aside, good idea to try stock first and get the real feel.
lol..i am pretty curious how it will play in this light weight.

Yeah, mine had a pallet so if i want to swap to a different size, I don’t see why not

In 300g version I prefer 70ra stick. However, Saleem put his hand on my 63ra version with weights - and then I found this term Thor's hammer to be a true one. :)
For those who have played the 100 at both the 63 and 70 RA, and all things being relatively equal (weight, balance, etc.), does the 70RA appear to have a lower launch angle than the 63? Any other obvious pros/cons?

For grip type: PU, leather and hybrid, which one is the thinnest and thickest and heaviest to lightest?

Also, which grip type you guys like the most and could compare to? currently using PAT/PA and changed them to wilson leather, but after a year or so, although I like the feel, the feedback is too jarring and went back to original grip for comfort, since Angell is more arm friendly, any difference on these feedback or PU will be more muted and leather is comfy and feels right? thanks

Hmm, I have not noticed significantly lower launch angle of 70ra version. Maybe even opposite - shots were a bit loopier, tad more spin, and more free power.

I was you I would just quickly grab the handle a bit higher while serving and see if that helps. Doesn’t have to be much higher, 1cm will reduce the SW by ~14 points. You kind of move the pivot point higher and serve with shorter racquet. If that helps, your problem is SW, if not, then probably static weight.

Hi I played again yesterday and really love this racket the way it is , just need to find the right string /tension combo I tried a couple of serves with ,as you suggested ,grabbing the handle a bit higher than usual , I will try this more thoroughly next hitting session but I think this could work thanks a lot for the tip

The K7 lime behaved very well during all sets played. Racquet with excellent control, stability, with a good level of power. I still need to adjust the ball time with it, which is quite different compared to tc95 which is my current game racket. Also I need to make the choice of rope and tension for Lime, because the string chosen is not ideal for her profile. I need a few more weeks of testing to see if I'll trade the TC95 for her. At first I gained a lot of control with lime, but lost power and spin, which somehow I have to compensate using a proper string and technique.

Did you try to change string on the Lime? Maybe putting the same string you have on the TC95, in order to have an idea of the difference due just to the racquets.

Can you tell us something about Lime vs TC95 stability against hard hitters?

I changed the string, but I did not put the same one that is on tc95. The k7-lime in stock mode is very stable in heavy balls and with additional lead in the head gets even more stable. The two are very stable in heavy balls, nothing to complain about.

What is your level of play? I did not find K7 Lime to be stable in stock form. It most definitely needed weight in hoop to stop fluttering and improve stability. The TC97, by contrast, is much more stable. In fact, that is probably the only thing I can think of that did not sit well with me with the Lime. In stock form it can not withstand the onslaught of heavy balls from opponents over and over again. A little weight at 3 and 9 or even 12 and with a leather grip and it transformed the stick.

Maybe the string and tension you used influenced stability. Compared to tc97 that has the highest swingweight, of course it will be more stable. The k7-lime for a racquet with 290 sw unstrung, I find it very stable.

Same with Red, couldn’t play it with just leather grip. I switch to my TC95 and totally change how easy it is to handle heavy shots.

New owner of a K7 lime. I am not a young gun like some of you guys but still play decent level for my age. Had to add 6 grams to hoop just to make it stable enough for me. It twists and flutters like crazy on off center hits in stock form. Overall I like it a lot.

What is your level of play? I play guys who are 5.0-5.5 and hit really heavy balls. Also, I am not new to the rodeo. I know how strings and tensions play into stability. It was not that :)

Compared to other rackets with the same swingweigh, k7-lime is much more stable than them. I added 8.5 grams on the sides and the level of stability went up absurd and greatly improved the stability. Level 5.

Having owned K7 Lime and hit with it just maybe an hour ago, I will have to disagree on stock stability. With weight, yes, that greatly improves stability and ability to take heavy balls. Without weight, I can think of a few other racquets that are more stable at same swingweight. Try the Dunlop Srixon line for example. I playtested one for TW not too long ago.

Even with customization to the K7 Lime, you will not get as authority and point play prowess as with a customized TC95. The TC95 just hits a heavier ball, plain and simple.
I agree, but it depends a lot on the beat style. Tc95 has much more power and spin. But with my custom Lime K7, I gained more consistency, due to greater control and accuracy, of course I sacrificed a little power.

Got it. I've never played with that model. With those I played, k7-lime was more stable.

I am curious. Did you change the grip to leather too? I just swapped from Fairway leather back to Angell leather and I wanted to see how people felt about leather grips on these K7 Lime. Didn't like the feel of stock grip it came with.

No, I'm wearing the synthetic grip. I'm not a fan of leather grip.

Welcome to Angells! Yes, overall we all like Angells (some lines more than others but still) :) - What are your final specs now?

Ok, I might give that a go tonight and see how that feels.
Interesting to test. But it all depends on your style of play and how you like the racket. My style, it fits well. I like my tc95, but when I get late in fastballs, I lose control with it, which does not happen with K7 Lime. But a matter of spin, power and serves the tc95 is superior.

thanku haqq. To be honest i am old school and I go by feel. I haven't even noted down final specs. I went on court hit a bit and then added lead tape slowly till I got desirable feel. Generally thats how I do it. But i am now very keen on trying on all Angell lines simply because of guys like you and topspin and paulo and other regular contributors. Thank you all guys.

Just yesterday, after more than six months playing with the K7 Red, I used again my TC95 63RA. I was astonished, I did not remember such a difference. The K7 is more comfortable and forgiving, and behaves better in touch game, but for everything else the TC95 wins.

Yes, we have some great guys here on this thread who are regular contributors and really into tennis as well. Please feel free to ask any questions and we would all be very happy to help.

Yes, although I am enjoying touch a lot with the V3 TC95 @48lbs with Black Night string. K7 more plush and more forging for sure but i did find i have to string my BK a bit higher on K7 as it’s a soft poly to mitigate extra trampoline

Looking forward to seeing how it plays, got a friend who's a staunch pd user but finally succumbed to pretty severe tennis elbow so trying to think of viable alternatives for him.

I know you've tried the clash too which is another one I've said to consider.

Nice feel, very good power and very easy to play. Of course, it is very light and super whippy stock. I had no trouble with launch angle at all which seems kinda weird as its the same string pattern of the TC100. I could still blast serves with no trouble and get pretty good kick. Rip a backhand at will and forehands needed me moving forward into the hit to get a heavy ball given the weight but flat screamers were easy and felt like cheating. BBO @52lbs seemed like a pretty good choice. This seems like a really good platform 100 with power and good feel. I will play with it one more time stock before i add a leather grip and some weight.

Seems like a promising stick!!!! How you compare to k7 Red or tc97 16/19(i know you did not like it because of not uniform flex) i interested to see how you compare in terms of control and stability mostly

Plays with the ease of the K7 although certainly not as flexy. More natural power to it stock then K7 and it does have the very uniform flex of the TC line. It is very light so at some point I tried simply blocking a shot on a volley expecting the reaction of my TC95 and ball just had no punch. Stability seemed ok but lacking weight on the ball which is understandable. It is 312g strung so super light.
