I think the exact mold of his blade is less important than the weight of his racquets. Appearantly ONLY 315gr unstrung. Contracting many advocates who state that only with heavy -swing-weight racquets a pro is able to be succesfull on the ATP tour.
Can you show who claimed what you wrote?
Also, the racket I use is 318g unstrung, 345SW strung — the SW and light static weight are not always aligned...

I obviously replied to Fliiix with embedded weblink. I would be highly surprised if a stringjob of 17gr is able to increase the swingweight that much. The internet article states too that all of the extra weight of 10gr of Tsitsipas racquets is in the handle, making it even more unlikely that his swingweight is that high.

It can increase the SW by that much, make some calculations. In fact, the Strung SW was measured by the stringer this data came from.

I gave you an example showing that you have no idea what you're talking about...
315g unstrung setup can still have a hefty SW

Ful bed of 4G at 55/53lb, played day in day out.. professional player or not, I have no idea how a wrist/arm can stand up to that lol. I'd love to know what sort of wrist exercises and conditioning these guys do.

From personal experience, adding 17 gauge poly strings to a 97 sq inch 18x20 racquet (TC97) adds 30 swingweight points for me. Unstrung racquet swingweight of 300 becomes 330 strung swingweight. I measure all of my racquets specs meticulously using RDC. I am not sure I fully understand here. Roughly 30 point increase in swing weight after strings are added is pretty normal. It isn't crazy high or anything. What is the confusion?

Wel because tbe embedded article of fliiix states that Tsitsipas racquets have unstrung swingweight of 305 and strung swingweight of something like 347, which seems really to high.

Ah I see. I went back and clicked on the link and read the article. This picture is from the there.

cqV985o.jpg

So the link basically says he has:

Unstrung swingweight of 308
Strung swingweight of 343

In my 97 sq. inch 18x20 racquet, adding 17 gauge poly strings adds roughly 30-31 points and 16.5g to 17g weight. But Tsitsipas uses 16L gauge (Luxilon 4G) strings in his 98 sq inch 18x20 (18.4 grams). That is a heavier poly even in thinner gauges, in my experience. After stringing up, I am sure 35 point swingweight difference is not out of the realm of possibility here, no?

Finally someone explained it nicely =) . I thought it's fairly obvious that the strings increase the SW by that much. It's actually fairly easy to calcualte too. It's like adding 18 grams at 3/9 location.

I sent this data to fliiix. These measurements were made on 7.8.2017. There was the ATP Challenger in Portoroz/Slovenia. I had my RDC with me and took these data correctly. It was a H22 frame - this week I have probably covered a dozen racquets. The stringing was done on a Babolat sensor apart from the regular stringing service. I also have the handle of his scrapped racket - the photo can be seen here.

In my blade 18x20’s I have recently measured unstrung vs strung racquets to get accurate account of weight from my strings. These all have four knots:
Solinco Tour bite 16L - 18.3 grams
Weisscannon Ultra Cable 1.23 - 19.9 grams
Wilson Revolve 17 - 17.7 grams
Volkl Cyclone 1.30 - 20.0 grams

LOL,, how does SW jump up by 40 points just by stringing ?

Ouch,, why is the popular cyclone so heavy ???

So the big news here is that Tsitsipas is swinging a H22 and not a Blade.

That was almost two years ago.
Yesterday I watched the match vs. Stakhovsky in Marseille.
In 2017 he just beat Stef in the semi in 3 sets - yesterday, Stef cut him into pieces.
It looked like that if he would still play with H22. But from today's point of view I can't say it 100% anymore.

He has used a blade 98 18x20 under various paint jobs since his junior days. Can’t tell you which version but likely a n or k edition.

Stringing can easily add about 30 points to swing weight and will vary with type of string as well as gauge.

I knew him as a junior when he was always hitting at Glyfada, he loved and raved about his 2013 blade and hated the 2015 muted feel when he tried it. Wilson then supplied him with the 2013 blade with 2015 paint job and he was happy again. Wilson just kept on updating the paint job on old frame layup for all new models ever since.
Thanks for this. Interesting.

LOL! If true, that neat! Reminds me of the Jim Courier stars and stripper ProStaff 6.0 idea for the U.S. Davis Cup I think or was it for U.S. Open?

The Wilson Pro Staff Tour Classic 6.6. Both the 85 (16x18) and 95 (18x20) are such dope racquets. I've pretty much used these two racquets my entire life. The only real switch I've made (outside of constant dabbling in newer frames that should be easier to acquire) is to move from the 85 to the 95 (with a bit of lead). I've always thought that they felt much more plush than the 6.0 versions, and I much prefer the gloss paint and the colours.

Too bad Courier hated it and it got discontinued so fast. I would literally figuratively kill for a re-release...

Does the Blade lend itself to one-handers?? I mean, it just seems like two-handlers get so much out of it.

The rackets are grip size 3, standard length (685mm), and the unstrung weight and balance (including overgrip) is 319g and 32.0cm.

His string setup was:

Mains - Luxilon 4G 17 (1.25) @ 26.0 KGS
Crosses - Luxilon 4G 17 (1.25) @ 26.0 KGS

Hope this can be of help,

I’m not entirely sure, but you can play top 6 in the world tennis as well as beat Rafa on clay with the blade and a one-hander.
