Best 95 sq/in Racquet??

Didn’t they used to call the PT630 and even the current generation Prestiges 98 sq inches at some point? I thought I heard a while back that Head changed the way they state head size to better match the rest of the manufacturers.

Wilson 6.1 95 line and Dunlop 200 line probably the best. Prestige 95 line and Yonex 95 up there as well.

It's really ridiculous that the best of these (the Wilson 6.1 in my view) was discontinued not because Wilson had a better product but simply bc they released the RF97 which was different and they didn't want the 6.1 to cannibalize sales of the RF97 which could be sold at a higher price point due to Federer endorsement. The RF97 is a very nice racquet but the 6.1 is more versatile and better overall.

so you're saying I should root for Fedr to suck/retire so I can get my 6.1 back

No - not at all. Just go with RF97 for now (the black paintjob is so much better than the last few iterations of the 6.1 which had lollipop color schemes).

But I do think the 6.1 will come back at some point.

Last month I retired my, qty. 8, Prince Precision Graphite 640pl, 95sq in, 16x20.
Power under precise control...they will be missed, since I bought them new in the 90's.
Finally, moved on to Prince Phantom 93P!

My all time fave unreal feel , weight balance flex string pattern etc is perfect it’s a
Wilson 6.1 pro staff 95 sq inches jr model EURO RELEASE ONLY .

It looks exactly like the Wilson 6.1 pro staff the edberg one . The small 95 head is a bit more euro egg headed and the lack of length is never noticed unless you point it out ....but again ONLY PROBLEM scares most away , but if you aren’t afraid to add a 1/2 inch to the handle to bring it up to 27 length Your a set . When strung with no mods . Weight is :
10.9 -11.1 oz strung

Flex -
34 -36 RA not noodle either it says 34 35 or 36 RA but feeels like a buttery soft low 50’s ra to me .....

10- 12 pts Head light
Unfortunately it’s supposedly a jr frame . But I’ve noticed with a TON of my older late 80,s and 90,s frames once strung they all are closer to 26.5 length anyway ... so missing a little length for me at the bottom of the handle is not a big deal as a matter of fact I have found that. It makes a wonderful difference in control ..
I’ll go as far to say once I started messing around with with shorter length gave me control like it did when i switched from syn gut to poly strings ..
Meaning ... shots that should fly long by a bit just drop at the last second , just like polys do for your shots .. I’ve been playing wit these off and on for forever ..
if I am coaching someone who is struggling with hitting a bit too long on the forehand but they WILL NOT for what ever reason try to add more spin to get it in , I let them use this thing , and then they beg me to sell it to them. For the 4.5 / 5.0 man looking for a frame that will let you flat out crack it as hard as you can ..with out the anxiety and fear of hitting it just a hair long ..

I wish they would re introduce these so everyone could try them . Keep it the exact same nothing else no changes just make the handle .5 longer and you’d sell tons of these .

Man I’ve always wanted to try this model
Just dug it out last week while cleaning the garage. Hefty, hefty, hefty. Came across another 95",
Gamma F-9.5 mp racquet. Replaced the Tradition 18. Awesome, thin beams, damped. 1st racquet that I used NG M/poly X strings.

I've enjoyed using my Yonex 95D with Volkl Cyclone 17g. I replaced grip with a black Fairway leather grip. Weight comes in about 360g.
The 95D seems to have decent power and spin and a huge sweetspot. Due to square head?

Picked up a Head Radical Tour MP recently (Zebra).

I replaced the original synthetic grip with a black Kimony leather grip and also changed the grommets to CAPS grommets.
The leather grip is very thin and weighs the same as the synthetic grip.
Total weight is now 360 grams. (strung with Volkl Cyclone 18g at 44lbs)

Will give it a try next week.

13.60 oz and strung at 33lbs. Zero elbow/shoulder issues - even after dislocated shoulder from hockey 10 years ago. - knock on wood. Heavy racket loosely strung don't need to swing as hard ...

Ever break a string?
Seldom. I play every day, I hate breaking strings because it takes me a few days to get used to 'em. So, made the decision to go to 15 gauge a while back. (speaking of, who knew 15g strings are .12 oz heavier than 16g?} A little less responsive for sure. But, durability is the key.

Have a cheap friend who breaks 16 gauge strings twice as fast as 15 gauge.

The Babolat Pure Storm LTD/Pure Control 95 would top my list. I'm sure some of the Head frames would be there too if I didn't avoid Head because of the handle shape. There are also probably a few Yonex that would go on my list as well, but overall the Babolat's would be my pick I think.

I’m so surprised not more folks didn’t love the last pure control 95 .. I thought it was the best hitting bab stick ever made .. I’ve yet to see one person ever use it but it hits a very nice plush heavy buttered ball .
