It doesn't help that, even though I've been a Cowboys fan for 40 years, I want to punch Deon Sanders in his pompous entitled face every time I see him. But I digress. :)

Anyting but a routine win for Long John would surprise me, and I would love it :)
You're all mixed up.
John is old, and ugly, and there's nothing under that hat.
Felix is young, and cute, and smart!

Same here. Definitely don't disagree. But as punchable as his face is, I have never seen a faster guy on the field. When he was chasing a runner down who broke through the line and the safety, he was unreal.

Chasing down guys with a 10 yard head start within 50 yards... to prevent the touchdown. The guy was absolutely sickeningly fast.

Most definitely, I don't doubt Neon Deon's talent on the field at all. A true shutdown corner, not to mention the returning ability.

Felix have never been on the receiving end of something like this before.
Not talking about the pace but the angle and bounce. It takes experience to read this serve.

There could a miracle in a tie break but I think it is unlikely once the Ent gets into the groove.

Clearly Felix has to take care of his own serve and hope he can get some plays on Isner’s. One thing for sure he will give it 100% even if he gets off to a bad start.

Just looked at FAA’s physical stats - - 6 foot 4 and 194 pounds. Wow this guy is pretty developed already for an 18 year old. Pretty much like Becker was when he was that age.

Well, it looks to me this is the last time we will see "Q" next to Auger-Alassime's name.

His ranking is basically good enough to give him a seeding in the Slams.

His performance in this tournament is a big FU to IMG. Barring unusual circumstances, he'll never need WC consideration from them ever again.

My opinion has an equal number of big titles

So you're saying that you are a glory hunter?

Obviously titles is the real test at the end of the day but you cannot deny that FAA at 18 has serious potential and a very high ceiling.

Do you see any other 18 year old in the semis of a Masters 1000 right now?

Love to see Felix win this one, but I think the servebot will prevail. Isner will do his usual, serve, wait for a tie break , and hope for one mistake.
Really too bad tennis has come to this type of playing.

Incredible run, no matter what happens. I hope he manages to play without fear and pressure.

Great player to watch; brave and can play with power AND finesse (y)

Beating Isner is achievable for any player that is good enough to make a Masters semi. FAA just has to be smart on his own serve games and then get lucky in a couple tiebreaks.

still dont see a player who could handle peak Novak in a grand slam.
maybe there will never be such a player robot again

grand slams are a different beast

At this stage of the tournament, a big server is probably a better opponent than a baseliner/grinder for Felix because of potential fatigue. You often see young players struggle with the physical demands of the ATP tour because they are not used to playing that many matches, and their body isn't ready for the grind. Not only did Felix play a lot of matches recently, but he also had to qualify in Miami. Andreescu had played more matches than anyone on the WTA tour, I'm not surprised her body ended up failing her.

Felix is our new ATG, I'm sure of it.

Zverev and Shapo might be, but I still have some reservations about them.

But Felix, convinced me the moment he won a challenger match as a 14 year old. It's very rare to see early promise like that, and if combined with no obvious technical deficiencies, must nearly inevitably lead to greatness.

We always look at servebots and think there is no way they are losing a match with that serve. But somehow they regularly find a way to mess things up, even against average players and Felix is way above average.

He can win and we all know how - protect your own serve with all you have and wait for a chance to break. Getting to a tie break is not a bad situation when you play servebots. They get tight since they know they almost have to win every single point behind their serve.

Who has the better chance of taking down fed in a final

You know, I’d be perfectly happy with anyone but Isner winning here, and absolutely delighted if one of the young guns actually won. But now I really want to see Fed triumph just to see you have a meltdown :)

Yeah but could Felix take out the mighty fat in the final or will he be too nervous and green
Felix seems very grounded. I want Fed to win the tournament but I would be happy if Felix or Shapo won. How awesome would it be for a teenager to win a Masters? I just don't want Isner

John is there's a nice guy but tennis should not be played by someone 6 foot 11 I mean the net needs to be raised servbot tennis so f****** boring

i'd give faa a better shot than isner of beating federer. rog is picking up the big serves in these conditions, i think faa would be tougher, solid from the ground and might sort of 'thiem' fed to death from the baseline, just sustained heat and intensity. think fed picks apart isner on these courts.
