New Asics Court FF 2

Please ASICS bring a normal color like this below. The orange one for clay is decent but the current black is bad. As for speed FF if you compare it with the 2 grey PJ’s of speed solution 3 all of the colorways are unbalanced and hideous.

Only negative for me is the back of the shoe. My heels have a bit of a Protruding bone that causes me to get blisters with certain shoes. These issues are causing that for me. There is nothing wrong with the Schook it is just my foot. If I put a Band-Aid or even tape on the back of my heels they are fine. Still, I will probably look at the Mizuno or the Wilson rush bro next time around.

I should also say that I wear a 3mm lift under my right heel because of hip surgery and my left heel is fine. Sometimes when I use my lift, it can put me in a place that bothers it. Some shoes do and some shoes don’t. Not a flaw in the shoe. I just need a little more padding back there. I have had shoes that did not bother my that over time, developed a hole in the padding.

Ok, played some doubles over the weekend and just finished a singles match tonight in the new Court FF2.

Remember, YMMV:

Great shoe! Nothing drastically changed but some noticeable changes.

First, I wear size 9 and bought size 9. I had bought both 8.5 and 9 with the FF 1, but the 8.5 was a little too snug for me. I have a "normal" sized foot with a neutral setting. So same size 9 in the FF2.

I actually still have a brand new pair of the FF so was able to compare the 2 "straight out of the box".

I've never had any issues putting these things on (never needed a shoehorn or anything like that), but I can see how people can say it's difficult. The 2's seemed a tad easier to get into.

The length in the FF in the toe box was greater than the FF2.

I've learned to use the runner's loop in my shoes so never had any issues with heel slippage. Not that I had any before I used that method of tying, but I had a few instances of toe jam in the FF. Not anymore since I use the runner's loop.

The FF's seemed to be more plush with it's cushioning compared to the FF2; that's NOT to say that the 2's weren't cushioned, they are. Both are extremely comfortable for my feet.

The FF's seemed to fit my foot "glove like". The FF2 while snug seemed like they had just a little more room overall.

The biggest issue I was having with the FF was with lateral stability. Hard changes in directions and it felt like the shoe became looser. I was re-tightening my laces every chance I could.
Not so with these FF2. Could be the honeymoon period, but so far so good.

Other that some of the color choices, def an improvement over the first iteration and will now be my match day shoe of choice. Hopefully the durability is the same or better.
are you taling about the gel court ff?

I have already got my hands on the Black Court FF2 and I can assure you that it looks much better than in photos. The underlying red and yellow colors make the shoe look nice.

Someone in the TW review said they run a bit large.
Did anyone compare them directly to Gel Res 7 in terms of size? Same, smaller/larger?

I wear US 9 in GR7, like in all other shoes, it fits fine. Perhaps just a hair too big, but 8.5 would be too small for sure. (So ideally I guess I'd wear 8.8-8.9 if such a thing existed.)

I'd like to add on to the question. The general consensus for the Court FF was .5 size down from normal. I'm normally a size 10 in all of Asics but did a 9.5 for the Court FF. Is the FF2 similar for the .5 size down?

I did. The Gel Res 7 in a 10 was too tght for me and the 10.5 too long. The 10 in ths FF2 fits me much better. Plenty of room in the toe box for length and width. So, I suppose over all, it is a bit larger.

Shows in my Amazon wishlist, but when I click I can only select the black pair. Coming soon?
I hope so because the TW stocking and planning is horrific. Just when I was hoping to get them before my trip, they pushed the date from 4/30 to 5/16 for the orange ones while other sites ship already!!!

The shoes TW is calling orange are not really orange. They match the red shirt from the winter. If you look online for the most recent Asics clothing and think the red shirts are orange then that is the “orange” you will get

Received the orange ones yesterday and immediately took them out for a 2-hour practice. I have used Barricades (almost) exclusively since 2007 and went through the love (2, 4, 5, 7, 2015-18) and hate (6, 8, Solecourt Boost) relationship. However, the barricades were the benchmark for fit, durability, stability...
After first two hours - I am sold on the FF2. The fit is great. My size is 11, Barricade 2018 I used 10.5, SCB 11 is way too loose, the FF2 size 11 is a great fit. The shoes feel very light and fast. Just a perfect sole - allows to slide on HC with amazing stability. The comfort is great out of the box. They feel great on HC. At this point I am not sure about the durability. The stability is amazing.
Negatives:
- shoelaces as everyone pointed out
- I am not sure how good the ventilation is. They did feel warmer than the barricades.

Asics calls it “Cherry Tomato”.

@TW Staff I just got some Gel Res 7s in 9.5. They are amazing, love the fit.

I have a wide foot, so I usually have to get my shoes a little longer than normal, which is ok for tennis since its easy to jam my toes on my smaller Kswiss Hypercourts. I would say the Res 7s feel a little wider than Vapor 9.5s on me, which is good, they are not rubbing on me or causing issues. Toe box has a thumbnail and a half instead of a thumbnail of clearance..

All of that said, and taking the wide foot into account, what size would you recommend in the FF2’s?
