Do you see any other records that Djokovic can reach by end of 2020?

As a Federer fan, I now want Nadal to save tennis. By winning Canada, USO and finally YEC to snatch YE#1 and stay there for a year, then retire after RG2020 having equalled the slam total.

He can go down as the co-GOAT with Fed, with nextgen finally catching up and winning Wimbledon 2020 with the big 3 pushed out for good.

As a Djokovic fan I hate this kind of thread.

When Nole won RG 2016 all that was said was that we would win everything. Over the next months and what came was a desert.

The right thing is to focus on the next championship and be satisfied with what you have achieved so far.

We are in a similar position to then. Nothing new, old Fed can’t get the job done vs Djokovic at slams and chokes, leaving his slam total vulnerable.

We’ve learned nothing new, other than Fed can play great at this age too.

Do I think it’s good for tennis that a guy who’s an efficient baseline grinder, plays the same style of tennis since about age 26 and is still winning vs the next 2-3 gens playing that same style? No. I don’t want to see this guy eclipse the slam record in his 30s... the slam record that was earned playing unbelievable all court attacking tennis vs contemporaries.

He'll get the 6th YE & overall weeks. I mean it's about 98.5% for this year's YE & 93% for overall weeks.

With the way Fed's been playing though if he managed to better himself at USO, win Shanghai & WTF he might have a chance at #1 by winning AO next year. But would need a Novak collapse.

Those. Nalbandian, Davydenko, Young Nadal on clay/grass, Young Djokovic on HC, Old Agassi on HC, Safin etc. Plenty of great players.

Federer has the higher peak than Djokovic. Djokovic will probably end up with better longevity and consistency due to non existent 2-3 gens ahead of him. Which may win him the slam record.
