We prob need to have a list of honorable members in nole fam. Ones not djokovic fans per se.
Feather and sepiroth should be voted on to get in.

I think a lot of people here have no idea what ‘nationalist’ means or are bungling the word pretty badly.

But yes, I am Serbian and i support both Djovak and Fedr.

I'm British and, as everybody here knows (or should by now), I'm a Murray fan but have always respected Djokovic. However, my mother (the only other member of my family who is at all interested in tennis) is a die-hard Djokovic fan and always has been. It leads to some amusing exchanges between us especially when Djokovic and Murray play one another. She always supports Djokovic against any other player even those from her own country.
Your mum is a badass :giggle::X3:

Also, I like Andy a lot and his humor

Fellow NoleFam brother, what's it like to live in NYC? It's been a dream of mine to one day do so
I lived in nyc and up in the hudson river valley near poughkeepsie. Love the culture and excitement. The crowds stink tho. Always take the trains! I prefer the smaller town living now. But you need to visit nyc! Food and the women are prime. They need some cave men down there! Lol

I'd be partying in the meat packing district...

For Serbian friends I have a curiosity: how big is idolatry for Djokovic in Serbia?

Are people crowding to watch your games?
They wake up any time to see your games?
They make noise when he wins?
Have a general sadness when he loses?

I am from Serbia, and Nole is definitely enormously popular here. It's not uncommon to see people watch his matches in the cafes or celebrate his titles on the streets/squares. However, it's nowhere near celebrations of soccer or basketball wins/titles (or even water polo titles - tennis is not a hugely popular sport here).

Believe or not, Federer and Nadal have a considerable number of fans in Serbia (one of my best friends root for Nadal even when he plays against Novak). Juan Martin Del Potro is also enormously popular in Serbia, while Tstitsipas is growing his fan base in Serbia as well.

this "Balkan brothers" claim needs a reality check

the level of animosity between some nationalities in the Balkan region has reached such high levels that its resulted in wars and horiffic atrocities

tensions may have cooled down in the past decade or so but make no mistake, theres bad blood in that region
True but Novak is different. His mom is Croatian. He got lot of crap because he was supporting Croatia in WC.He is proud Serbian but really likes all people of Ex-Yugoslavia.There is actually suprising number of idiots in Serbia who think that he is not enough patriotic because he is friendly with our neighbors

In short, you know nothing about TA or its internal machinations or the system for juniors transitioning. Thanks for the clarification.

When you block someone, weird comments pop out apparently pointed at noone. You should try it, it is much more fun than talking to those people. ;)

There are very little Novak fans here in HK, and the media is pro-Fed (not a lot of coverage of tennis though).
But somehow I meet two guys from university that happen to be Novak fans too.

HK would be so beautiful, Kowloon is my dream Asian destination. There, I would wear my Nole singlet for sure.

Yet, perceiving the West as "evil" is something completely normal, hence the victimisation complex. I wonder whether some people realise the humongous irony they involve themselves in?

He's a Fraud-erer apologist who's a self-proclaimed global expert on social affairs, government and anything tennis related. In fact he created the world single-handedly with his knowledge.

In reality, he's a ****poster who can't debate and thinks posting a sunnies emoji means he's eclipsed anyone who dare challenge his highness.

He wrote a laughable poem about Fraud-erer after Sunday, I think his entire life-force is vested into TTW ala Agent Smith from The Matrix fame. Best to ignore the tactless coot.

I'm from India as well!

An interesting thing I noticed here is that a lot of women here like Novak. Most of my female friends and acquaintances who know my interest in Tennis, naturally gravitated to 'NoleFam'!
True, that most of them are casual watchers of the game, their reason for the choice is him being more attractive and charming than the rest! :p:p:p
I don't wanna sound like Sir Mix-A-Lot but, when it comes to females, Novak ain't got nothing on Rafa.

I'm an Aussie as well, despite all the Nole haters, I feel Roger has become more arrogant over time.

I see arrogance in all of them just in different forms. The higher up they are the more attention they get. Any positive/negative quirks they show get magnified.

I'm Asian American and Novak is my favorite player. Further debunking the myth that most all Novak fans are from Serbia or are of Serbian descent.

I do like Fedal a lot too, but Novak is always my rooting favorite.

You will not find many Serbs come here and acknowledge

Truthfully , I would be surprised to see more than 20% non Serbians , even in a global forum like this .

Case in point USO 15 - support of 1000 in a 25000 crowd. Similar numbers yesterday . Just see the roar when Fed wins a point.

But the 80% crowd makes up for the overall small numbers with their patriotism by being loud here

But that's not even what the OP was asking and you're going off on a tangent (not surpisingly).

No one is arguing that Novak is more popular than Fed. We all know Fed is the most popular tennis player (probably ever). So why bring up how loud the roars were?

The original point is OF the fans that Novak has (which in total is fewer than Fed, duh...), what is the make up in terms of ethnicity/location/nationality?

The Nolefam is for sure not all Serbians...and likely much more than the 20% you're asserting. Your "supporting data" (how loud the cheers were/how much support Fed got in relation to Novak) doesn't even pertain to the point you're trying to assert ("I would be surprised to see more than 20% non Serbians)...

Some of them have twisted picture in their minds about his fans which is not surprising bcs they are moving in same circles repeating same mantra over and over again - Novak has no fans, he is not loved/respected, his game is boring, he should embrace being villain... It is funny how wrong they are about topic they know nothing about, but preaching like it is only truth out there.

Yes...whatever helps them sleep at night.

Some (notice I didn't say all or every) Fed fans always like to go off on a completely unrelated topic when they are losing the original argument or are getting called out on saying something incorrectly. It's like they are perpetually trapped in a mind haze of being upset that they lose all logical coherency.

This thread was just asking a benign question about the make up of Nole fans...and then of course some spoil sport has to come in here and go all "He's not as popular as Fed, nah nah nah nah! " Like okay?! Was anyone even arguing otherwise?

Well, it depends on several factors: how many days you plan to spend, and whether you prefer big cities, night life or nature?

You should spend at least few days in Belgrade particularly if you like great food, spirits, wine and nightlife/clubbing. Novak Djokovic tennis academy is here, with dozen of clay and hard courts :-D If you are lucky, you may meet him here :)

However, since Belgrade “hosts” almost 30% of Serbian population, it can be very crowded, with lots of traffic jams, and in July/August also very hot and humid.

If you prefer exploring natural beauties, there are really many nice places:

1) Danube gorge, with Golubac castle, “Iron Gates” with breathtaking landscapes on both Serbian and Romanian side of the river
2) Fruška Gora in northern Vojvodina province, Sremski Karlovci, Novi Sad, Subotica
3) Zlatibor or even better Zlatar mountain
4) Ovcar & Kablar national park with dozen of beautiful medieval monasteries, and breathtaking view from the top of Kablar mountain
4) Pester plateau, with untouched nature, great landscapes (good for hiking, local people are very hospitable, mandatory visit to kanyon of river Uvac and food is superb, since mostly everything grown in this region is organic!)
5) Mokra Gora/Drvengrad (Emir Kusturica’s wooden village with restored steam train railway through untouched nature)
6) Kopaonik (Serbian ski resort, but nice to visit in summer as well)
7) Vrnjačka Banja, Soko Banja (spa resorts)

This was from the top of my head, however it’s hard to explore any country, including Serbia, in short time.
