Grigor Dimitrov Nike Vapor Pro Stock Shoes obtained (with pics)

I've managed to get my hands on a pair of Dimitrov's custom Nike Vapor 9s grass court shoes from Queen 2019.

They are a paint job of the Vapor Xs but he's using a custom version which are actually the Vapor 9s.

Differences I can see are:
- Carbon fibre shank (like Federer's)
- Higher quality rubber on toe area and more rubber than stock Vapor 9s had in the toe area
- Custom sole as front of shoe
- Custom tongue with Carpe Diem written

Luckily he's the same shoes size as me. Wondering if I should wear them or just hang on to them!?!??

Haha i like the 9 and the 9.5 way better yes, i adore those shoes!! the X is less wide, has to short laces.. still have about 7 pair of them :p

Always wondered if Fed wore Nikelos i.e. Nike/Thorlos, or some sort of reverse engineered Thorlo type sock back in the day; certainly appeared to be wearing something thicker than retail, doubled up or otherwise.

Agree the Vapor X feel so different, desperately trying to find 9s and 9.5s, especially with clay sole.
Maybe Dimitrov will keep losing and keep handing out his shoes

The only thing with the 9 and 9.5 that could be improved was the cushioning. Why did Nike ruin the fit with the Vapor X? So much narrower.

Yes, exactly and they run much narrower than the Vapor Tour 9 and Vapor Tour 9.5. They killed and pinched my feet even in the wide version

What are you wearing now? The older I get, the more particular I am about shoes. I've gone through a bunch of shoes. I've landed on Diadora, the Blueshield model. I really like the Blueshield 4 colorways, hopefully they haven't changed the fit too much. Diadoras are comfortable enough to wear on court and keep on (and laced) once you get done.

If you don't intend to sell them in the future, get those babies on the court. That way you will know what the whole hoopla is about (hey, you will be just like the pros in the shoe department), and apart from that being part of the enlightening that the shoes don't make the player, you will get rid of the temptation to hoard shoes for a "collection" like some brainless (IMO) people do.

Nice find but I have to give up nikes for good. Those shoes are narrow, fragile and why t f do they put the zoom in the heel ? They should be full length just like Fed s

I bought up a bunch of 9.5 on the bay before the price went crazy for what’s left out there. I’ve also had been wearing the Diadora Blueshield 2 in 2018. I had an injury to my ankle while was wearing them and hadn’t had them on since. I don’t know if the BlueShield 2 contributed to my injury or not but since I have recovered I went back to the 9.5 and never had a problem. I have tried the asics Gel resolution 8 and just don’t like it as much as the 9.5

Why would Nike manufacture Dimitrov's custom shoes in both Vapor 9 and Vapor x styles?? For anyone other than us geeks no one would ever notice!

There must be so many shoes thrown away that we'd pay good money for...

They’re Dimitrov’s shoes ok... outside of 1-2 mega nerds on TTW no one gives a $&!+... 97% of the planet has never heard of Dimitrov. The shoes look cool and are high quality, just wear em.
