What happened to pure cloning of humans?

I feel a decade plus back there was much more talk about cloning humans. While I will hear from time to time an animal got cloned or something, I never hear anything about progress towards humans.

While I don't see the positives of it and do not condone it, I do find the idea fascinating. What would happen if we did have this ability? Would we utilize it? Probably in a terrible way.

But has science simply decided AI will robotics is easier and more efficient?

Or have we simply said it is morally and ethical wrong and have stopped this scientific path?

Just remember this being a more relevant topic then it is today, and figured we would have made significant progress in this the past 15 years or so.

I honestly thought we would have cloned humans by now.

Perhaps they skipped that step and invested into what the clones were actually supposed to do :) Ai has come along ways, humans used todo that stuff.

You ever see the movie terminator, Arnold >>>> Sly @hitman

It turns out that it’s extremely more complex than they imagined . Better off trying to clone organs and foreskin

What happened with cloning?

It got lost with Dolly the sheep via the Raelians cult if my memory serves me correct

i mean, even for harvesting body parts. Several movies touch on this such as The Island and Never Let Me Go.
I would guess that as the cloning technology advances and the processes are streamlined, the ruling class is increasingly pressuring the media to keep the topic outside the mainstream.

Never heard of The Island, but I happened to read Never Let Me Go before I got to watch the movie. The book is very powerful because you have no idea what it's about for a long while.

The Island is a more modern and tech version of Never Let Me Go. The idea of being alive to serve your counterpart for when they need it is a tough go. But we will eventually get there whether we want to or not.

Scientists seem to be currently mainly focussed on cloning DNA from extinct animals so as to bring them back to life. Jurassic Park has a lot to answer for!

If you think the CIA or something don’t have cloning technology then I have beach property in Antartica to sell you.
That's conspiracy theory material.

Cloning mammals is hard, and primates are particularly hard. Here's an overview:

Related, here's a very interesting youtube documentary about one notorious fraudulent human cloner:

Cologuard scientists have been working very hard at cloning The Sureshs™ since receiving his sample. He has the skills and knowledge to save the world. We need this.
Their first attempt at cloning The Srsh ™ resulted in Drump. That's why they lost interest.

Have you had a colonoscopy lately?
I find your question offensive, as that is a very private matter.
Only people of objectionable behavior would talk about and publish their colonoscopy results in a public forum.
Reported.

I don't think we should clone humans from their stool samples.
Besides being unethical, think of the ramifications.
You could produce a line or race of really crappy people, people who smell very well mannered. I mean, well manured.
