Rafa will be #1 in the ATP Race!!!

Nadal will most likely win Roland Garros again, thus placing him ontop of Roger but when Wimbledon comes around, everyone knows who's going to dominate. Plus the US Open. Nadals reign will be short but sweet.

If Nadal wins Rome, and Roland Garros... his reign in the race will be a little longer, specially since Federer didn't win Indian Wells nor Miami. That will give Nadal 3 MS and a slam, and Federer only one slam.
And that's only if Nadal doesn't play Hamburg, which he could win too.

Maybe after Wimby, Federer can be closer, but in the race, I think 3 MS are just a little better than one slam. Isn't like 100 points for a MS, but 200 for a Slam and 140 for a slam finalist?

Yeah but I think Rafa will stick to his tried and tested clay schedule and not play Hamburg, while Federer will likely win it. Wimbledon will be very interesting this year. I expect Nadal to lose in the 4th-SF depending on his opponents. Though it would be awesome if he can meet Federer in the final!

I don't think Federer will play Hamburg, though.

Apparently I checked and he's right. He is number one in the race points. Really nice but it doesn't count as number one for me because he isn't in the lead in the overall rankings. But so far Nadal is having a good season, Fed has the Aussie and if Nadal gets the French his year would be better by that point. Until the grass comes. It was sweet for a little while.

He will be very lucky if he gets into Wimbledon final again this year. =)

No doubt. I could see him possibly loose a lot of points there. His hold on 2nd is so huge though it might not even effect him because he's got next to nothing to defend in the summer/fall.
