Which generation was weaker, Djokodal's or Federer's?

Rafa's had Djokovic while Federer's had Roddick. Lol.

Rafa's had Murray while Federer's had Hewitt.

Rafa's had Wawrinka and Del Potro while Federer's had Safin and Nalbandian.

Rafa's had Berdych and Tsonga while Federer's had Gonzalez and Haas.

Rafa's had Cilic while Federer's had Baghdatis.

Federer's generation was so unprofessional and so much weaker compared to Djokodal's generation in my opinion. What do you think?

I agree TennisAnalyst.

In today’s professional era you wouldn’t have fat guys like Nalbandian or Bagdhatis approaching even the top 20. Federer feasted on bums until the big 2 emerged and ended the party.

The Djokodal generation 85-89 was stronger than the Fed gen of 80-84, but it matters very little considering that Fed played 85-89 just as often as Djokodal.

Probably even more often considering Nadal didn't play Murray of 2012-2013, didn't play Delpo when he was actually better as often as Fed and didn't play Stanimal either as often as Fed.

But Djokodal's next 2 generations were more pitiful than Fed's generation by a landslide which is why they've inflated and they're still inflating their resumes as we speak.

Not sure what OP was trying to prove with this. Who was gonna say Fed's generation was tougher? Djokodal's wins by default due to giving birth to 2 ATGs as opposed to just one in Fed's case.

But, like I said, Fed played Djokodal's generation just as often. And his own generation was leagues better than the crapfest following 2 generations.

Djokodal generation wins but Federer's also had the likes of Ferrero, Coria and Ferrer. Bagdhatis is also Djokodal gen too btw.

Who says they declined? Djokovic just destroyed red hot in form Medvedev in straight sets. Nadal played one of his best clay matches ever at RG. They are still playing peak tennis o_O

Ned's peak at every single major came when Joe still had the SARS/anthrax/bird flu problems and was hitting 15 DFs a set, so I don't see how they are the same generation. It's like saying Lendl and Mac were in the same generation because they are 1 year apart when their peaks never overlapped as Lendl was not mentally or physically ready for Mac's entire prime pretty much.

The second half of 2016 until Wimbledon 2018 was a dramatic decline in form for Novak.

Roddick > Djokovic, nuff said. Djokovic couldn't even handle old guys from Fed's era. Fed's era was played on a different level, Djokodal couldn't keep up. Djokovic's achievements are inflated because of the retirement of guys from Fed's era. Before you get mad, remember H2H old Roddick > peak Djokovic.

Before you come back with the Fed Djoko H2H, most of Djoko's wins came after Fed was past prime, it was the only way the less talented Djokovic could overtake the Fed.

If you compare the generation according to potential, Federer's was much easier


If you compare the generation according to mentally, Djokovic' was much easier

Freddy was 2-6 against Murray after IW 2009 and 6-8 until 2012. Berry, berry relevant.

I guess Fed must have peaked after 2012 given how he turned it around xD

Fed's gen was filled with potential.

Djokodal's gen simply more or less fulfilled it better than Fed's for the most part.

Let's imagine that if surfaces somehow get more polarized in the future, the fanboys of the time will probably say about the last 2 decades something like meh, Federer, Nadal and Djokovic achieved so much because of the homogenization and they are not even close to player x of today, they inflated their stats so much.A never ending cycle :D
