Hmm. It's probably not.

Rafa was favored but everyone had least expected a competitive Final.
That Roland Garros humiliation was so very painful to watch. Cannot ever recall such humiliation of a GOAT after such large expectations.
How many games did Djoker win? 0-0-0?

Or did Rafa donate a few games to the hapless Djoker?

The loss to Nadal was partly Djokovic's own fault in allowing Tsitsipas to get back into his previous match and making it go 5 sets. A fresher Djokovic would have performed better against Nadal in the final. If I recall correctly, Nadal was going in with 2 days of rest too to Djokovic's 1.

It goes to show that Nole cannot be denied. Only gives motivation for him to win even more.
Well before the year started we all had him down to win AO but i remember everyone saying if he was 2 slams behind going into FO this year it was game over. So not sure what has changed?

who told you this, or you've just got a call from the sky?:Dpantera, i guess you should be a bit less confident about yourself considering this area
What? Call from the sky? What you on about?
When Djokovic fans make predictions are they getting calls from the sky?
As it happens i think it will end 22-21-19.
Time will tell. Today it is 20-20-18. And i am happy.

After seeing Djokovic's level in the AO final, I don't think that it's too late.

Nah, he didn't really look tired in the final. He was just powerless against Nadal's crazy performance. Tsitsipas performed so bad in the deciding set that the match looks like a 4 setter.

Felt like it took him longer than just one year to go from 17 to 18 due to the manner in which he lost the opportunities in the meantime. The way he finished this Australian Open is an encouraging sign going forward though. A really good statement made.

It did take longer. 12 months 3 weeks. Therefore your feeling was correct.

That's quite bold predicting Federer and Djokovic to be equally successful at Slams in the future.

this makes no sense. 2 slams is nothing if Novak is playing well and he is one year younger than Nadal.

Not what people
were saying this time last year.
He is essentially 3 behind Nadal given Nadal is almost a lock for the FO this year. If he wasnt losing a set in October conditions i doubt he loses a set in June.

To me for all intents and purposes, Novak is already better than Federer and Nadal.

He has morphed into a much more offensive player right now. His serve is bigger than ever - perhaps as good (or better) than Federer's at this point. He is also more offensive on ROS. Clearly he is paving a path for longevity for several more years.

It's NOT about the slams. It's about his game, mental strength and adaptation. The fact that Novak has gotten better consistently and dominated Fed/Nadal, makes him the best of this era IMO. Fan or not, that cannot be denied.

he is 2 slams behind Nadal when comparing at the same year (and ahead of Fed). If he were to win WB and the USO he would tie Nadal for slams won the year he turned 34.

nadal is the favorite at one slam and Novak at 3 (yes, right now Novak is a greater favorite at the USO than Nadal).

I have no clue what will happen but Novak is well placed to end up with the slam record. We shall see

Lol this nonsense Djokovic is favourite ahead of Nadal at USO makes me laugh so hard. He simply isnt. Im not even sure i would back him over Thiem at New York.
Djokovic is not getting younger. He looked vulnerable in Australia at his pet slam. He will be 3 behind Nadal in June and maybe 3 behind Federer if Federer wins W.
His disastrous 2020 has put him at mercy of Nadal and Federer losing at their pet slams.

Given your disastrous record in recent times I’m surprised you still feel you can make predictions. Good for you

If Novak met Nadal today at the FO he would be an 80% favorite. If not more.

edit: USO, not FO :-D :-D :-D Sorry @MichaelNadal !

I dare say a fresh Novak might have won 2 whole games in that opening set.

Still mad about that default. Would be on #19 now.

Djokovic routinely craps the bed at the US Open. I feel like he would have goofed this year as well.

(Of course he did, but no one could have foreseen it being this inexplicable)

hate to say it but its literally just a matter of time until he gets the record..

Where is your evidence lol? And my predictions are better than Ivanisevic and every Djokovic fan as FO2020 proved.
Ill tell you if Nadal played Djokovic at USO and the court like last year Nadal would win in straight sets or at worse 4.
