This is the most confident I've ever been in tennis prediction.

What a meaningless thread. Nadal looks done right now, there are at least 5 players who can beat him there this year, especially in night sessions. This is if we assume the tournament will even be played. (the situation in France is not so good)

Kindly refer 5 current tour players to me who can potentially take 2 sets from rafa at RG, sir.
Leave aside beating him.

How is Nadal done right now, when he won the last RG without dropping a set?
So Federer was the favorite for AO 2019 because he won it the year before? Or him losing to Anderson, Millman, Nishikori and many other players after AO 2018 was more relevant to judge his form?

It's not even going to be a year since the last RG, It will be about six to seven months, how can you say he is done?

Because since then he is being totally owned by the young players, losing all the big points, getting tired pretty fast.

How many of those supposed ownings took place on PC?

Nadal has a combined one title between Paris Indoors, WTF and AO....that has never impacted what happens at RG and on PC.

First of all, fed at ao and nadal at RG are totally different cases, there is not a single player comparable to nadal the greatest warrior of tennis world at RG.
Unless he shows signs of low confidence and stamina like 2015, never root against him at RG, sir.

If Nadal has problems with physical form and confidence then on clay they should become even worse. This thread looks like another "Nadal was great in RG 2015 because he is always great in RG by default" stuff. Nadal has been showing signs of decline for a long time now. No need to look too much into last year, he was lucky he avoided Zverev and Thiem. I see clear signs of decline on clay - he was vulnerable during most of the 2018 clay season, and was absolutely terrible during most of the 2019 clay season. And last year he lost in 1 clay tournament out of the 2 he played. This is not prime Nadal.

Djokovic, Thiem, Zverev, Tsitsipas, Schwartzman, Medvedev. In a night match they all should beat him.
Okay so I'd counter all of your players with valid points, sir. With all due respect to those players.

Djokovic for sure isn't going to be able to do it. His deceased firepower, stamina & serve+return combo being nullified on clay against Rafa make the matchup extremely brutal for the serb. Plus, unless nadal drops below no.4 in rankings, a potential djokodal meeting would only happen in a SF or F; where nadal has never lost on PC.

Thiem does not have the consistency to keep on hitting ferrociously over the course of 5 sets to get through nadal at RG, night conditions will only make things worse for him as his margins are lower than rafa. He has been routinely fed 6-1 6-0 sets by nadal at RG. In addition to all these, the Austrian seems to be declining and having stamina issues nowadays. I highly doubt whether he'd even reach rafa.

Zverev's forehand and 2nd serve are atrocious now-a-days, he isn't going to be able to hit through rafa. Plus, nadal would be all over him in returning. This isn't paris indoors, this is clay, court phillipe chatrier. Zverev would just fold under pressure even if he'd have chances. Just like he folded against nole at AO where he should realistically have won 6-3 2-6 6-1 6-2.

Tsitsipas, just lol. Didn't you see what nadal did to him for first 2.5 sets at his worst slam?? What makes you think nadal won't sustain that sort of brutality for extra 30 mins if he happens to play the greek on his best surface at his best tournament?????

Schwartzman or goffin can really trouble nadal and take a set, but its practically impossible for a guy of his size to sustain redlining tennis over the course of 5 sets against nadal at RG. Plus, his serve is practically another rally shot against nadal.

Medvedev??? Medvedev????
Him even reaching the 2nd week of RG would be a shocker, leave aside beating rafa.

Decline is there, yes, but it so far has not been enough to offset the difference between Nadal and the others on clay.

On clay, Rafa still rules with an iron fist. Until we actually see him fall, stories of his demise are too premature.

In 2018, nadal won dropping just 1 set en route to the title at RG, beating 2nd & 3rd best players of the tournament in an embarassing fashion along the way.
In 2019, nadal won dropping just 2 sets en route to the title at RG, beating the world no.3 & 4 in a dominant fashion along the way; also crushing world no.1 in the final of what was his most dominant masters title in many years.
In 2020, nadal won dropping 0 sets en route to the title, beating the guy in straight sets who beat him the last week & destroying the World no.1 in the final.

Hope??
Are you even a nadal fan, Gentleman??
Obviously I always want him to win. But if he loses, better it to happen before the semifinals. I don't want him to hurt his legacy like Federer did in Wimbledon with all the final losses to Djokovic. (and yes, let's not lie to ourselves, Federer did hurt his Wimbledon legacy)

Djokovic is done on clay. Thiem is in heavy decline, and the next in line as the favourite is the effing Schwartzman. The clay competition is a real joke right now. Nadal has 2021 RG safely in his bag. ;)

If there's a God, Thiem will finally beat him and win, especially if they meet in SFs but then Novak would be waiting in the finals.

Rafael can get his 21 at WB or USO.

But Nadal probably has 7 hocruxes hidden all over Paris, the dude refuses to lose.

So, if Nadal ends, let's say, 14-2 in RG F or loses some SF late in his career, this somehow would hurt his legacy ? Oh c'monn man... :D
