That’s the whole premise of many of these threads is to push this narrative. I would rather own property, be free and independent like the Vikings for instance.Socialist nirvana? Who thinks that... ? You got one guess....

I grew up with Abba and i was in love for Agneta Åse Fältskog. Unfortunately she didn't care.Your hate for ABBA really went off the rails eh...

We are not denying that Bart, however once you tax people over and above what is functional for private individuals to get on with their lives, well that is unsustainable which is what Sweden realised in the 1980’s.Sweden is not socialist at all by most definitions. It has a higher level of collective provision, but all this occurs within a capitalist economy.
The Swedes certainly also have a far stronger and diversified capitalist economy than we have in Australia.
That actually made me LOL... you just keep bringing up subjects you know nothing about.
Did you know that there were slaves in VIking society? You'd also be the first black Viking... wouldn't that be something.

Not as many slaves as there are in Marxist culture which you seem to have no experience or understanding of.

Much more raping and pillaging went on in socialist/communist Russia and China along with torture. The Vikings? Raping and pillaging is now called imperialism. It still happens.

Wages go up when there is full employment, something that destructive socialists seem to work against otherwise nobody would listen to them. What is functional in terms of tax varies according to the times and people's preferences for the most part.
And as well as taxation you have the problem of pitiful wages and wage growth. This is our current problem.
People have been reduced to the gig economy.
Mao snd Stalin killed a lot more then that. And this is the evidence with you, Chris snd guys like Slowtwitcher where you constantly attack, say the US. Your hatred towards countries like the US is a real problem that now pervades many people. You people are a destructive force to our societies, wanting to tear everything down.America legalised totrure after 911 and certainly killed millions in the ME and NA.

Serious? Are you stupid?Mao snd Stalin killed a lot more then that.

Serious? Are you stupid?
Good bye.
Do your research!Serious? Are you stupid?
It's not funny anymore.
Good bye.
Yeah I can, it’s basic supply and demand that exists in all areas of life and things of value.Nope. And I bet you can't come up with data to support that.
Its not about research, you stupid f***, even sayin such "ah, millions of dead people ... others killed even more" is respectless to any victim. what is this discussion about???Do your research!
Yeah I can, it’s basic supply and demand that exists in all areas of life and things of value.
They are not going up because we are not in full employment, plus globalism has kept wages low because jobs have been exported to China. You are wrong. The mathematical model states that. In the real world it doesn't happen.Wages are not going up with full employment. There is copious data to support this.
I share the Dane/Irish connection.Estonian/Hungarian: aware of it's Uralic bloodlines (Finn/Dane on mom's side; 'mic' & 'limey' on dad's side). : )
After playing 3 days in a row now we are allowed to in the UK - that looks very tempting.
Actually it looks like headache, nausea and embarrassing appearances in public. After playing 3 days in a row now we are allowed to in the UK - that looks very tempting.
I once procured many, many mini bottles of Finlandia from the publicity department of Samuel Goldwyn Studios. I did the same with Bushmills when they were promoting a film set in Northern Ireland.
Sounds like your familiar with East London - it aint no Wien.Actually it looks like headache, nausea and embarrassing appearances in public.
Drunks are the same everywhere ... more or less. Had to deal with drunk people from almost everywhere, they all sucked.Sounds like your familiar with East London - it aint no Wien.
Maybe, but I bet they’re much happier in FinlandDrunks are the same everywhere ... more or less. Had to deal with drunk people from almost everywhere, they all sucked.
Natürlich nicht.I wasn't a part of any of the illegal stuff.
It's more about 80s-punk bands.Anyone have a favorite Finnish metal band?
Lapin Kulta!! Besides the dark blue "extra strong lager" can you posted, I've heard a local once call it 'girlie beer'It was a snowy night and involved an American punk band, LSD, shoplifted expensive liquor, and drinking cans of Lapin Kulta on deck in the cold, cold night. I wasn't a part of any of the illegal stuff.
Memo to self: next time, don't 911.America legalised totrure after 911 and certainly killed millions in the ME and elsewhere.
The Soviets left Afghanistan and the next empire just marched in and never left!
I think a Swedish guy was bringing the Lapin Kulta from the duty-free shop. It may have been cheaper.Lapin Kulta!! Besides the dark blue "extra strong lager" can you posted, I've heard a local once call it 'girlie beer'
(though the 'regular lager' Lapin Kulta can I saw came in a lighter-colored blue).
The locals' more 'ballsier' beer was Karhu beer ("bear beer") whose red & black aggressive graphics on the can gave it more of a "Made in C.C.C.P." vibe-lol.
(note this doesn't have any English "Golden Beer of Lappland" written on it)

Point taken. I think we both have posted about Karhu earlier on this boardI think a Swedish guy was bringing the Lapin Kulta from the duty-free shop. It may have been cheaper.
I actually posted about Karhu earlier in this thread:
I love Sebelius. It doesn't mean I dress like him.Do you do dress-ups as well?
The specific Silja trip I mentioned was 25 years ago, but I was curious about today's Tallink/Silja beers and prices. Lapin Kulta is still a little cheaper.Point taken. I think we both have posted about Karhu earlier on this board
@Crocodile: please, don't feed the troll.....you're only feeding the entitled-to-hijack-the-thread mechanism with more irrelevant, besides the point, full-blown america-rant-douchebaggery....yawn...
Keep it Finnish to the finish pretty please.
I agree with you there, there is an truth to that. My thoughts about countries like Finland is that they have some interesting ideas of good things going for them, if you are purely looking at the country on it’s on merits.Point taken. I think we both have posted about Karhu earlier on this board

Then you have problems such as a desire toI think you are closer to totalitarian ideology in many of your views.
