Rome masters scheduele, are they crazy?

Rome introduced one evening sf match in 2011, while first sf is in the early afternoon...

These are some facts for 2011 to 2020 period (ten tournaments):
  • First semifinalist won 9 times and evening finalist won only once
  • In 2011 Novak won as second finalist and that's only year when final match was in the evening (more time for 2nd finalist to rest)
  • Nadal won 4 finals and in all of them he was first semifinalist
  • Nadal was second semifinalist only once and... he lost
  • Nadal was 1st finalist 5 times and 2nd only once
  • Nadal is again (in 2021) first finalist
  • Djokovic was first finalist, including this year, 3 times and second finalist 6 times
  • So, Nadal had advantage in 6 of 7 times, while Djokovic had advantage in 3 of 9 times
As conclusion, I can ask... Are Rome organizers idiots?
How they can't notice that they ruin final matches, again and again... And, why a particular player is so protected?

Shouldn't be a problem for the mightiest warrior on earth, no? This will be too easy for Peakovic. no need for excuses like rome sheduling, not watering the clay on the fifth set, ab tear, shoulder injury, no?
It is just a fact, not an excuse, Nadal is already a gigantic favorite on the surface even without all the scheduling issues that have been happening for a few years now. Not sure how people can't grasp that.

Not talking to you buddy only those who believe 2015 Federer was Peakerer like the OP. Djokfanatics like these are getting pwned right now there's no escape lol

Nadal would have played as 2nd semifinalist in 2015-2016-2017 and 2020 had he made it there.

Add 2014 and that's 5/10 years he was a potential 2nd SFist.

Same with Djoko, he was a potential 2nd SFist in 2011, 2012, 2016, 2017, 2019. That's 5/10. He made it there each time, so the statistic seems skewed because of it.

I am upset about the whole thing, but let's not bs people for free.

How do you know that?

Wasn't 2021 Nadal - Zverev QF supposed to be played after Djokovic - Tsitsipas, but for some reason they swapped it on Friday?

Sure that was a stupid swap based on scheduling, but they grouped the QFs based on "top half"-"bottom half" logic. The same was with the WTA matches.Barty-Gauff and Swiatek-Svitolina were played last.

If you can find me a pattern from last years where they purposely rescheduled matches, I am all ears.

Not saying I am right to the bone, but let's not attack Nadal for free until we can prove the favoritism being done.

I don't feel like putting in that much effort. All I'm saying is that e.g. 2020 and 2021 obviously don't follow the same pattern, so no reason to say all of 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2020 would if Nadal made it to the finals each time.

It's not about Nadal, he takes what he can get. It's about Rome. It's not so difficult to understand that the guy who plays 5 hours on saturday will be good for nothing on sunday. But all they care about is money, not players wellbeing or the quality of the finals itself.

Sure, that's what I was saying in @BeatlesFan thread about the poor scheduling. They don't make any effort to improve it.

Let's go with facts, not if's, ok?

Just keep whining and maybe the RG or Wimbledon organizers will have pity and close their roofs again on sunny days
Why so defensive?
Can you explain facts from OP using some logic and objectivity?
If you can't, it's ok, because its unexplainable...

It's just poorly organized, but it's not Nadal's fault.

I guess they are happy with having poor quality finals.
Don't forget it is the first tough day Djokovic had in a few months. Since AO he just played 2 clay tournaments and lost early in both. Then skipped Madrid as well.

He lost a brutal three setter to Aslan in Belgrade in the semis, a match of the year contender. That was not an early loss.

I know this one, but will never learn...
My mistake...

Your thread is a complete waste of time, and your deflection has been noted. You know why we're laughing at you - because you cry over a Masters tournament scheduling when Djokovic has been the beneficiary of some of the most questionable and unnecessary decisions by organizers in the history of grand slam tennis. Nadal could never hope to equal 1/100th of the good fortune Djokovic has benefitted from at slams due to scheduling decisions at a masters tourney.

Now you are talking...
Nice post, but lack of facts... Please back up your claims with some factual data, or your words will stay empty blabbing...
In OP you have pure facts...

Scheduling is bad, and Nadal is protected by scheduling.

If you disagree, please explain without using some stupid emotes... Use some logic and arguments. Words and facts, you know, how hard it is to understand...?

I guess it's a business model. Saturday night, people want something to do, give them a big tennis semi-final. After they can go have drinks and dinner. That's a night I would take in Rome any time. I'm not saying it's right. But I don't think the tournament is organising for the players. They organise for the tournament and for the customer. It's a business.
Anyone in the Rome semis is doing well from a business approach to tennis because the prize money for atp 1000 Rome semi final loser is close to $99,000 which is 17% down on 2020 .
The tournament could change things, of course. They could play the first semi at 11 and the second at 2. They could be fair and play 1 wta and 1 atp semi on the main court and the other 2 on the second court. Have everything done by 4 or 5. That would be better all round. But the bottom line is money, so night tennis it is.

They could re-schedule the final for Monday since RG is 2 weeks away anyway, but no, the organizers are pieces of sh*t.
Rome itself had played finals on Monday in the past.
The organizers are just pieces of sh*t.

Just making people thinking alike get together.

Yes they are crazy. Its an unfair matchup for Sonego who played 6 sets vs Giokovic who played 4.5 sets. Sonego had a winning h2h v Gio and had a better grunt. It denied Sonego a place in the finals on home soil

The double standard is hilarious. Everyone knows that if Rafa had to play 5 hours on Saturday and then play the final on Sunday, VB would be in full meltdown mode.

This is not a grand slam. Rafa said it best himself yesterday, "in terms of preparation, I consider it done." He came to Rome to prepare for Roland Garros - the Rome trophy is an aside. Djokovic himself said before this tournament that all he cares about now are slams. There's no need for this drama, the real contest begins in two weeks.
