It was marvellous to see such passion and fire from Djokovic at the end of that match. You could see how much this tournament means to him.

That is all you can ask from an ATG. The will to fight till the last breath in every slam you enter.

That is why he can do things like save two match points in a Wimbledon final or US semi-finals and why, when the dust settles, he will probably be the slam record holder. He truly loves the game more than himself.
Have to disagree. In an empty stadium that reaction is more psychotic than passionate.
No reason for it. I mean who was annoying him? The seats?

I appreciate your sarcasm.

The key to his success right there which the NextGen does not seem to have.

Nadal swore in Espanol after slipping on supposed raised court lines twice in recent times. Classy? At least Fed and Djok and others say it like it is. You get the feeling Nadal hides his true self a lot... probably frustrating as hell like that.

Let's compare an instance of genuine frustration at a tournament for using nailed lines that stick out and can cause a serious (even career ending) injury to a tool that screams and breaks racquets left and right cause he's a manchild.

Way to stay objective there, Jimmy.

And yet tennis wouldn't be the same without him. And you know it.

Tennis wouldn't be the same without Fedal, Djokovic's entertaining matches have had Fedal in them, he is boooooooooring.

No flare, no balance, looks like a disjointed lego man playing backboard.

I respect what he has achieved, you have to respect results, the man? his tennis? lol please.

No balance?! How do you win 18 slams if this is the case? Even Federer has said Djokovic has got incredible balance. What a strange thing to say.

Ocd buttock scratch, jock pull, sweat wipe followed by spinny shots over and over.. one could argue clay-dimensional Nadal to be boring.... all three have fantastic highlight reels in their career some people can't see it because their own inner demons are beating them...

I don’t care enough to upload the many clips of the man playing like he just had a twelve pack.

He’s achieved a lot with his ugly boring style so props to him.

Next Gen are plenty good at breaking things and shouting at their boxes.
What they lack is true intensity and internal fire. At least that’s the stick used to beat them with over and over again.

At the very least anyone can admit Djokovic is one of the most intensely competitive athletes ever and his internal motivation is GOAT level. Passion is always a good thing in this declining world of ours.

Lets get this cleared up although you won’t read. As a player, Djokovic is unreal, arguably the best ever and this is coming from a diehard Fed fan that’s suffered a lot of losses at the hands of Novak where you have to say “too good”
However his antics on court completely take away from his brilliance as a tennis player. Berrettini played a wonderful 3rd and 4th set and you’ll feel pretty bad after losing a 4th set like that, and you’ve got a guy screaming and roaring in your face like a complete animal thats drawn blood, Novak didn’t even let berrettini shake the umpires hand before he started roaring again. Novak is what I call an amazing loser and gracious in defeat but he’s one of the worst winners the sport has ever seen. He wins but boy does he let the world know about if
Genius, they do not shake hands with umpires these days. Go find your hermit cave to generate some more IQ.

Well that’s where the problem lies my friend. I want to talk about the tennis but Novaks behaviour in this instance overshadows his performance which on the whole was very good
No. If you really wanted to talk tennis then talk tennis and refrain from the rest, genius. But you cannot, can you?

Yes because screaming like a madman is the ONLY way to show passion

We are glad that this time there were no casualties from his love of the game. Good he smashed the racket in the banner, as this sign gave time to the line officials to protect themselves.

Djokovic is a great showman. The passion and intensity are real but are exaggerated for effect. He knows he is sending out a message with his magnificent eccentricity. Thank goodness we still have some characters left in tennis. I miss the glory days of Connors, McEnroe, Nastase etc when tennis was edgy and unpredictable. If everyone was as bland and dull as Federer (obviously a beautiful, balletic player, but a man who was born middle-aged in temperament and style) the game would be a poorer place.

Bravo Djokovic. Thanks for your magnificent passion and magnificent play -the finest of the 21st century.

Obvious b8, obvious irony, that's it from me.

You need to be manly Djoko alpha to understand :giggle:

A serious question: Why didn't he get a warning for all the yelling and then kicking the fence? It's clearly unsportsmanlike, even Djokovic fans must agree on that.

I just made a joke about the ridiculous (no)crowd situation. It's even more ridiculous that he didn't give him a warning for that.

I know, man. No time for laizzes-faire, unfortunately

But Spencer's comment was interesting, I think.
