thank you for ensuring he'd win with this post today. This guy is REALLY good. Said no competent tennis fan ever.

Coming back from 2 sets to love in a GS against anybody is an accomplishment in my mind. Didn't say it was ground breaking.
Happy 28th birthday, Lion King!
Dubai title plus Belgrade final almost equals AO SF. The fuse is a bit longer than January but you’re spot on that he needs points now to a) maintain seeding (nice spiff getting a bye this week) and b) give him some confidence.Feels pretty make or break down the home stretch of the season here. So much of his ranking is tied up in that AO result he likely won't be able to reproduce. Really needs to stack points to stem the future tide.
Schuettler went one round further there and also made Wimby’08 SFs, something I’m not seeing in Karatsev’s future. The German also was DE into AO’03 so he avoided having to qualify because of a far superior record before his surprise deep run. He had already won two ATP titles as well. Karatsev was on extremely virgin territory in February.Young people won't remember this, but Karatsev reminds me of 2003 Rainer Schuettler
We need volunteer @sureshs to use his courtside access at San Diego to take closeups of The Lion’s overly developed gastrocnemius muscles.
against Hurkacz too, definitely one of the top players on tour now.Well, the Lion finally manages to win two matches in a row.
Vs AdM/Opelka. That’s one of the multinational pairings. Lots of countrymen paired up, maybe as training for DC/ATP Cup play. There’s 13 pairs of countrymen in the draw.Lion starts off with doubles today with Rublev.
Why settle for standing a chance when he can knock the door wide open? Shapo has not been in a good place since pancaking vs Joe Kovic. Aslan has just one less win in SD/IW as Shapo has in nearly three months. Will Lion stand a chance against Shapo?
could be a fun match if both are onWill Lion stand a chance against Shapo?
against Hurkacz too, definitely one of the top players on tour now...
doesn't seem to be helping his still below average 1st serve percentage.Aslan's shorter ball toss on serve seems to really benefit him compared to Shapo in these windy conditions.
That being said, let's go Aslan!!!
Not the first time I've seen it happen (and it wasn't windy last time)Wind must be bad, Shapo just had back to back frames on ground strokes lol.
He needs all the help he can get, his low margin game doesn't exactly seem tailored for windAslan's shorter ball toss on serve seems to really benefit him compared to Shapo in these windy conditions.

My prediction is that this time we'll see a scalped lion at the Finnish line. Now let's see if he can avoid collapsing in front of a big server for the umpteenth time
He beat Hurkasz last week, granted Hubi was tired from his Metz tournament... but I'm hoping Aslan can pull off the win againNow let's see if he can avoid collapsing in front of a big server for the umpteenth time
SD result was a fluke? My prediction is that this time we'll see a scalped lion at the Finnish line.
Didn’t stop Harris from getting 18 aces vs Ruud yesterday. That can’t be purely from Ruud not reading service direction very well.Like Murray said, the courts are desperately slow and that's why you don't get too many free points with serve. This might even things up a bit for Aslan. But he has to get his second serve in. Though Shapo came up with even more UEs in the end.
