Use a 1/2 size heat shrink sleeve and then use your normal grip set up. If you don't have a shrink sleeve you can use athletic tape in vertical strips to build up the pallet. I usually cut sleeves down to about 75% up the grip so I don't have as much added weight and my racquet hand is more important grip wise than my 2nd hand on backhands.I play with an Ezone DR grip size 3 with a Babolat Skin Feel base grip pulled tight. I just got another one from a friend and it's grip size 2. I know this won't be exact but what is a good base grip to get a similar grip size and feel? Gamma Hi tech?
Wait, which one are you booing? The lime lime one or the White/Gray/Optic Yellow (but totally green) one?Booooooooooo lol

100 for meIn the 98s?
Hello DAX, Please PM in case of you are selling the L2 group sized dr98.Thanks. That is why I was thinking the gamma hi tech. Thicker than the skin feel but also firm. I have 4 other DRs matched so I'm not sure if this will work. Might have an almost brand new DR grip size 2 up for sale soon....
Just got a pair of the dr 98s. I strung one up and tested it out briefly, and I was just stunned. It was all around, just a stunning racket. I was using the xi 98 for a bit before, and though both have a distinctive feel that Im assuming all ezones have, the dr is just so plush and amazing. I think I might use it stock, but Ill probably add another overgrip because my usual grip size is a 3, and the drs that I have are 2.

Yeah I was thinking of adding some weight. As it would probably help my serve as well. I also tried a ai 98 lite, I was expecting a lack of stability, but it felt extremely similar to the Dr 98. I would definitely get more if I had a way to get them as cheap as I was able to, but in the US it seems that these are quite pricey. Also gonna be looking out for the Dr 98+makes you wonder why Yonex couldn’t stick to that magic wand formula and other manufacturers didn’t try to copy it. Still playing with the ones I bought in 2015.
you should try adding 2-3 g at 12 that really turns into a killer baseline racquet.
the gripsize of DR seems to be generous because Yonex uses thin basisgrips. so you must have big hands like trump if you know what i mean..Its my preferred stick as well. I bought 4 last year, got lucky and found a brand new one.
The other three were L3s, I play with a L4 so I just added a shrink wrap.
if you need more flex than only wet noodles wil do.. and then you never know when and where you hit a ball because you wont feel anything anymoreI just ordered two Clash 100’s.
I had a great time with my four DR98’s but I just need to go even more arm friendly. Time to sell.

Isospeed baseline long life at 52#. Honestly a thinner string would be nice, but man baseline feels so soft. I'll probably get some other string and try stuff outWhat did you string it with ? I am about to experiment with a DR 98 I bought.
So I have history of arm issue, tore my biceps tendon and some other things. I string my mains pretty much exclusively with natural gut, usually VS at 16 gauge. Crosses I have used YPTP, Head Lynx Tour, Hyper G, Lux Element, and some others. I have enjoyed the YPTP and Head Lynx Tour the most with the gut in the mains. What did you string it with ? Sorry. Finally got the stick and it's cracked. Total wasted racquetHello DAX, Please PM in case of you are selling the L2 group sized dr98.
Thanks!
these injuries can not be blamed on your equipment. Do you als karate or kickboxing maybe? So I have history of arm issue, tore my biceps tendon and some other things. Not harsh on the arm, plenty of power and decent spin.
The root of these injuries are not from tennis, just like any other activity they exaggerate and aggravate them. Just need to take precautions with my equipment and form.these injuries can not be blamed on your equipment. Do you als karate or kickboxing maybe?
why repaint the,? the original paint is better.Just updated my FT ad to include a straight up sale on my CTR custom painted DR98s if anyone is looking to stock up
try yonex poly tour spin, not the the round pro string. What did you string it with ? I am about to experiment with a DR 98 I bought.
what do you find the biggest difference in playing except head size?I just ordered two Clash 100’s.

You are selling the last good racquet yonex created ?I have two DR98's Blue (balanced matched) that I will be selling but I thought I would post it here - they are in very good shape- one is strung with Hyper G (mains) and Xcel (Crosses) the other is Lux ALU (main) and natural gut (crosses) - Grip size is 4 1/2 but I put the Babolat Skin Feel grip so they feel slightly smaller - somewhere in between 3/8 and 1/2
Yes - I've struggled with it for a while! The new Vcore Pro 97D strung about 5lbs looser is the best I can find to replace them-You are selling the last good racquet yonex created ?
in hindsight, i would have kept my blue dr98 and bought 4 moreYou are selling the last good racquet yonex created ?
I have a DR 98 L3, I bought a DR 98 plus also L3 and it feels a little bigger, then I bought two Vcore Pro 97 HD also in L3 and those feel smaller than the first one.So I just got a pair of DRs the other day, and while I was fixing them up with my grip mods, I noticed that my DR L2s are bigger than my Vcore L2s.
I usually put a Wilson butt cap on my yonex sticks, and while the L2 cap fits perfectly onto my 2021 Vcore, it does not for the DR. Not to mention it noticeably feels bigger too.
just curious if anyone else may have observed this between yonex sticks over the years/generations, if yonex is possibly shrinking their grip pallets more now.
It's definitely a great stick. Not sure if they're priced well enough or even just available enough for the effort to get one, and really if you already have a racket you like, there's no point. That being said, it is a pretty unique stick and I haven't used anything else really like it. A true modern player stick in my opinion. Great power, spin, and control. Personally I like a thinner beam, but still great either way. This racket worth getting? Never played with one before

100 is harder but I don't know for arm issues as I tried only a few strokesezone dr 100, 300 gram
any arm issues?
asking for a friend
I play with the 98 currently, super soft frame
but I know the 100 is up there around 69, this really surprised me.
was thinking soft co poly around 51 lbs.
