When did that take place? What were the results? I'd love to see a video of that.

"[Martina Navratilova], who has won a record 159 career singles titles, said it would be virtually impossible for her to beat [Jimmy Connors], who owns the men's record of 109 singles titles, without the handicap. Originally, she wanted all of both alleys, a format used during one-set competitions between men and women in the 1970s (Navratilova defeated Roscoe Tanner, 6-4, in the only "official" match she has played against a man). But Connors insisted he was too old to cover that much ground and Navratilova agreed to use only half of the alleys.
Because of the handicap - Connors has to cover part of the doubles alleys and gets only the one serve, although Navratilova has to return it to the half of the court from which Connors served - Jimbo has pledged to get in better shape by summer's end. "I should be ready to play, but it's not going to be an easy task," he said."

Jimmy Connors defeated Martina Navratilova in a quasi-tennis match last night, and the defeat was mostly her fault. Or mostly her double fault, to be exact. Connors, a 6-1 favorite, scored a 7-5, 6-2 victory before a sellout crowd of 13,832 outdoors at Caesars Palace. Both came to play and not to create an event along the lines of Bobby Riggs' infamous "Battle of the Sexes" with Billie Jean King at the Astrodome in Houston 19 years earlier.
