Can Djokovic beat the odds once more?

Similar to Wimbledon 2015 where he was faced with an unstoppable force in outstanding form...a force that many experts, pundits, fans predicted would be victorious in the final, esecially after the incredible display in round before the match. Can Djo deliver the goods one more time? Or is Carlitos too strong of a force to be reckoned with.

what say you? This guy thinks it won't even be close...so all odds are against Djo in this one. If Djo is to somehow win, would it be one of the finest and hardest achievements on his least favorite surface?

Told you. Some Djokovic fans will find anything to "prove" this is not the asterisk era. We didn't even have to wait until the end of the match for it to happen.

Take solace in knowing Djokovic isn't winning the title. Alcaraz dynasty is about to begin.

Djokovic has beaten the odds time and time again. His critics and haters always doubt him, but Djokovic continuously proves them wrong.

On Friday, Djokovic will show Tiny and the world why he is the GOAT and deserved number 1 of tennis. Slam 23 is inevitable for Djokovic.

He might win Wimbledon or one more Ao, but after that probably no more slams.

Alcz isn't intimidated by Djo's accolades and has more than enough confidence and play to win. Haven't seen anything amazing out of Djo, but maybe he has been saving up for this one. Gotta do better than their first meeting.

Novak's best achievements on clay are his big trophies (2 RG, 6 Rome, 3 Madrid, and 2 MC) and wins over Nadal (2 RG, 3 Rome, 2 MC, 1 Madrid).

Insurmountable odds at his peak facing up against an over the hill Federer lacking his signature FH who hadn’t won a slam for 3 years… inspiration.
That was because Fed was denied at '14 W, despite playing his best grass tennis ever.

Djokovic fans are turning into Nadal fans by the day being the supposedly huge underdog for everything. I won't be surprised if I hear about moral victories next if he were to lose to Alcaraz.

That being said, he's only a slight underdog, so of course he has a good chance.

I’ll never understand rabid Djokovic fans. Maybe it’s the need to attach yourself to a winner. Kind of like 80’s Niners fans.

There is nothing stylish or intoxicating about his game. His off court behavior is eccentric at best and sociopathic at worst. He is just a guy that is terribly consistent. But so is my clock and you don’t see me worshipping it.

Alcaraz has far more charisma and panache. Hope he wins.

Even a clown can be entertaining. Charisma panache I don't even know these words.

you can see in the first meeting that Djokovic won the first set despite Carlos playing incredibly well. Won his usual mental strength Tie break.

He faded in the other sets due to lack of match fitness. This year it will be different.

The first set tells me all i need to know

Aren't you a fan of Swiatek though, who a lot think is one of the most bland dominant women champs in recent memory? Lol. You know what they say. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

Djokovic will know how to come back even when a set or two or 1-2 down in sets

Alcaraz will be flummoxed if he does not win the first set.

Yes he can. And I believe he will get 2 more wins to go 23 in 23 in Paris.

A guy who calls an entire fanbase "rabid" and glory hunters just because they like a player he hates isn't to be taken seriously. And the comparison with clocks is unbelievably dumb lol.

You yourself unknowningly confirmed that you know Nadal was badly injured in 2021 RG. It would have been a far more relevant example but instead you used Wimbledon 2015.

Ouch.

I know the Alcaraz height stuff is a meme but seriously, how short is Alcaraz? From that video:

No, actually I believed in Djo more @ RG 21 than I believed in a victory over 2015 Fed...I didn't even wake up early to watch it, I was sure Fed was gonna win based on level displayed...this one feels similar to that (for me at least) so hopefully Djo gets it done again.

I'm sure the Djokovic team will be looking at Sinner's patterns. He gives Alcaraz a lot of trouble.

Djokovic will be laser focused for sure.

Collected a lot of scars over the years, huh? Why so toxic? Why coming with such serious accusations , do you even know what sociopathia is?
You (poster on sports forum) might be fan his rivals , or past time players , athletes from other sports , should we condemn you?.
What if you're Nadal fan &talking about panashe ?
I find Novaks game mesmerising and have been his fan since Wimbledon 2005 .Nothing wrong if some became fans at some point of his brilliant career

I don't know Novak personally I guess he has virtues &flaws like most people. Having strong personal integrity and being expressive about it , boo hoo.

Panashe is that word word used in Rolex ad? Fedal frankenstein fan?
I can get your excitement about new spanish strongman game &physicality& hope he wins
For me he has charisma of cardboard box . Guess what people have different taste

OP , as always ,we'll see . Seems CA is booking market favorite

Or maybe he became more match fit after playing the 1st set, but Alcaraz raised his level even more, so the 1st set is the one that doesn't count.

Novak lost a close SF to Alcaraz in Madrid 2022 in their only encounter. They haven't met since then but have played in the same tournament several times. Here is a list of their results.
Novak vs Alcaraz in tournaments since Madrid 2022
RG 2022 QF (l. to Nadal) vs. QF (l. to Zverev)
WB 2022 W vs. R16 (l. to Sinner)
Astana 2022 W vs. R32 (l. to Goffin)
Paris 2022 F (l. to Rune) vs. QF (l. to Rune)
Rome 2023 QF (l. to Rune) vs. R32 (l. to Marozsan)
Just some facts.

It's disinformation. Nadal wasn't injured in 2021 French Open, at least not in the first 3 sets. To suggest that this was the main cause of Nadal's defeat is ridiculous.

Beating TT posters hopes is not the same as beating the odds 8-B Novak was clear favourite.
Funny that one of the posters best known around here for claiming he is a great tennis analyst, someone who regularly claims his eye test and tennis knowledge allow him to accurately compare levels and predict outcomes, posted in that W thread predicting Fed would win in 4 sets. Several posts exposing why that was the case.

Almost like no one here has a clue!
